Eheheheh, second entry finished for the eveeeent !

Gogogogogo my boy ! Tell me, is that OK to fall in love with our own character ? I mean, look at his babe's face ! He's growing up, my lovely !

Well, now, I'm pretty sure that I'll not get the time to draw Eryn's one, but heh... I think I'll make it anyway but I will disqualify her... Like she'll fall in the middle of the run, I think.

Story :
Heavy breathing. All was in respiration. Breathing in, breathing out. All was all about that.

Nao looked around him with a bit of panic in the eyes. The minutes were running so fast… It was only a few horses before his turn. He was nervous, as Luna was too. After all, it was his second big show, but the first one which was not co-organize by the Ivory Hill Stables. And his first one with his own mare. He was stressed, because his first impression during the vetcheck was not an excellent one… And the “and if” were turning on his head. And if he failed again ? And if he makes a mistake ? And if he falls ? If Luna run away ?

Suddenly, he felt a hand on his forearm. He turned his panicked head to the source of the hand and saw Caelyne. She was smiling to him, softly, with a comforting look. She pat his arm and his shoulder, then spoke to him, with a quiet voice.

“Nao. Look at me. Relax. You are strong. You are powerful. You know your job. You’ll make it. You’ll do your best. Don’t focus on your weaknesses. Don’t focus on the unpredictable. That IS unpredictable and you can do nothing about it. Accept that fact. You know Luna. You know each other, you’ll finish this run correctly. Just think about all I just said. Do NOT think about anything else. OK ?”

The young man looked at his boss, his coach, his friend, and agreed. His name was called. He led the mare to the jumping ground. The sun was bright, the wind was light. All the conditions were excellent to make an excellent run. The boy took a heavy breath and then started to focus. His sharp eyes started to analyze the run ‘til he goes right in front of the judges. He made his salute and then, the bell started to ring. At this moment, his whole head became blank. All he saw was only the jumps, and the ears of his horse. The sound ? Obstructed. The view ? Only focused on the arena. He didn't even see the people around, didn’t even hear the support shouts from the public. All his determination suddenly came to the surface of his mind, and he launched his horse to the first jump. He sees the fence become more and more closer and… Lost track of time.

During the following few minutes, Nao had the impression that he was floating on the show arena’s ground. He lost track of time and had the impression of just being a spectator of his own round. The dreaming impression was high and only stopped when he jumped over the last jump. Then, Nao felt that he was slowly going back to the ground and reality. He patted his mare’s neck and led her to the exit while he looked around him. He succeed. He finished the run uncompromised, his mare seemed in good form… All ran perfectly. The second he reached the exit’s door, Caelyne rushed to him.

“Nao ! Nao you did it ! Congrats ! Your run was beautiful !”

The young man turned himself at his boss with a bright smile on his face.

“Am I like, alive ? I was convinced that I was dead as this run seems too dreamy in my eyes…”

Cae laughed and smiled back at him.

“Ahah, no, you’re full alive ! You did an excellent job. You said that was like a dream ? From an exterior point of view, that was kind of. You were on the same wavelength, Luna and you. That was really nice to look at, especially when we know how difficult it was for you. Eryn agrees with me, by the way.”

“Eryn ? She was here ?” asked Nao, looking around him.

“No, I streamed her the whole run with my phone. She’ll send you a private message later about your performance.”

“Oh, OK. Well, if you say all looks OK, I’m pretty proud, so !”

“You can be. As I said, you made a really spectacular recovery ! You started so far from that performance. I see a bright future for you ! You are ready for the next level, now.”

The rider smiled at his coach. After all these months of training, the training finally paid. He was ready for the next part of his rider career.
