Upon arrival to the show grounds, Madame Ross went to check in, leaving Michael to unload the rather anxious and antsy Xalbaropael. The Cruduos was attending his first show today and after months of practice and training... Madame Ross said he was ready. Mike would not be in the saddle today, as the passenger side door was slammed shut by a dirty blonde haired kid. Michael said kid, but the boy was already 23, but that was still younger than Mike himself, therefore he was a kid. Mike rolled his eyes as he watched Todd fidget with his outfit. Stop playing with your clothes and come saddle up your mount, Todd! Mike scowled and watched Todd jump as he was startled by the sudden command barked at him. Xal stood tied, patiently for once yet looking around the place nervously. After he was tacked up, Michael did a last check on his mane making sure it was still good and clean. Remember your training... You need to let him have his head, but not too much... Trust Xal and he won't let you down... Doubt him, and you're sure to fail. Mike threw some last minute coaching as Todd positioned himself in the saddle.

The waiting game was on and finally Todd heard his name and Xals name as well as their home stable called up. Swallowing the lump that grew in his throat, Todd urged Xal forward. Xal danced into the stadium. As they were given the okay to go, Todd felt Xal surge under him. Todd struggled to catch his own nerves as he fumbled the reins. Xal snorted anxiously as he approached the first jump. Without proper direction, Xal jumped it, but knocked a single pole down. Todd cursed at himself then found his confidence as he corrected himself and Xal. Months of training kicked in and Xal and Todd soared through the course, now working as a team. As they finished Todd sighed and Xal seemed to sigh as well before throwing his head up as if to protest Todd for that sloppy beginning. I'm sorry Xal, my nerves got the better of me. Xal snorted again then followed orders as he moved out of the stadium at a walk.
