Yes. In isolation, the phrase "All Lives Matter" is a meaningless truism: it is a point on which there is virtually universal agreement (in theory), and it promotes no discernable policy or course of action. In practice, however, it is being used as a rhetorical bludgeon to quash discussion of Black Lives Matter (the movement) andΒ its specific message: that black lives (although already held to be equal under the law to all other lives -Β in theory) are not being given equal consideration in practice. On every level of discussion, it seems that the people asserting that "All Lives Matter" consider it sufficient to pay lip service to equality in theory - usually because they are not the ones affected in practice, where real life falls short of lofty rhetoric...

Not yours but the ones who threaten the lives of others. Those who actually go out and shoot people then sleek hate. People who do nothing wrong and want peace are fine, and deserve peace. We all do. But those who want nothing but destruction must be dealt with somehow.

I understand what you mean. I just wish that you had worded it a bit differently the first time. A lot of times people mean one thing but don't say it right. Conflict developes and things go south. I just don't want anyone to misread what you say and an argument starts. Its a pretty sensitive topic for many after all.

If there was a subdivision and one of the houses was on fire, the fire department wouldn't show up and put fire on all the houses because all houses matter. They would turn their hoses on the house that was burning because that's the house that needs it the most.
