I know this is entirely late but just going through all my old comments that got pushed to the back when I was deployed >< If you were still wondering, photomatix run around $99 and comes with free lifetime upgrades (if I remember correctly ^^)

Aww, you are making me blush! This comment is late, really late, but I am glad that you love it! Have you come up with some photography to use HDR with that I may feature or at the very least look at and admire? ^^

thanks, this was a big help. after using photoshop and lightroom for ages, i have learned to avoid just setting things to 100% if i want to tweak an image. this meant that i was often frustrated when i saw great hdr photos and mine seemed so bland. thanks for helping, my images still aren't exactly how i want them, but i suppose it's a learning process.

great tutorial, much appreciated.

Sorry the download didn't work, I don't know why (blame dA ) But thank you for the fav regardless. I am glad that you found it useful.

It didn't finish downloading. Perhaps I should have left it connected to your page longer.
I have a new Mac and don't always understand how it works.
I'm not an old computer user, I'm just old!

nemisis11 In reply to winklepickers [2008-03-24 10:29:53 +0000 UTC]

LOL yet, you are young enough to know you are getting old And you know how to use a computer! Impressive really Therefore it is my opinion that you aren't really old. ^^

Hmm, maybe leaving it on my page longer...not sure how the mac you are using works.

winklepickers In reply to nemisis11 [2008-03-24 10:56:30 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's what I thought. I could also try putting it into a PC laptop I have. Well I'll manage.
By the way, your page was sent me as a link by a young Dutch woman. I had said in a comment that I'd like to manipulate photos. I don't know how to make layers to superpose them like she does.
I can do it with fractals, but am a bit lost with photos.
I have PSP and should be able to use that but I can't see how.

Thanks for your message. I won't bother you any more.

Someone sent you a link to my page? I didn't know anyone really knew about my page or referred people to it. I wonder who she is now. ^^ Thank you for telling me!

If you ever want help with your photo's, I'd be more than happy to help though! And you are no bother in the least! It is nice to actually converse with someone on here that is 'real' opposed to 'thanks' or 'nice shot' kind of stuff people get a lot. ^^

I think she just looked in the "Search Art" for HDR and yours was the first entry. Sorry to disappoint you.

Her name is :devdutchsun: and she takes amateur photos and writes small poems.

I looked at Photomix which I'd have to buy. I don't know about that. It's not expensive but I only have a small Kodak camera.

I just want to know how to superimpose photos and have transparency for the top one. I expect I can do it with PSP or even Photoshop, of which I have a pirate version..... !
It's just a question of "know how".

So you use differently exposed raw-files and merge together. I did'nt know that was possible. I will try that out, thanks.

You are welcome! Glad that it could help you out. I was afraid that it would be too large a file for people to want to watch and learn...even with DSL. lol. Glad that it appears not to be the case. Just wish some people that view it would comment to let me know if it were useful. (Not talking about those that did, but apparently only those that watch me will show me that courtesy. *sigh* )

Again, you are welcome, and glad that I could help. ^^ If you have any other ideas for tutorials, I would more than gladly make them, I am trying to make things that are more useful to people currently.

You're welcome! Hopefully it showed enough to get someone started. ^^ If you would like another one with more details about the features/etc, I would more than gladly make one for you. I am on a new kick to try and get more involved in dA community and try to help show what I know, and how I get the look of my average photographs/artwork. ^^ (I know, getting involved in dA can get risky..you got a new hat for it, so I have to be carefull as I do this )
