It is rare that I make a comic simply to express my sheer bewilderment toward the profound ridiculousness of certain plot developments in any given series. And it is also not as though Fairy Tail has been completely free of such developments since I began reading it. Quite the contrary--it has been filled with almost nothing BUT such developments. However, somehow, I was compelled to put my feelings toward this particular series of "plot twists" into the form of a comic, and to share that comic with all of you.Now, if you love Fairy Tail and think it is just the greatest manga ever, and you can completely forgive all of the contrived, hackneyed, repetitive storytelling (or if you simply think that none of the storytelling actually IS contrived, hackneyed, or repetitive), that is totally cool with me. This comic is simply not for you. Or maybe it is. I don't know. I shouldn't make assumptions because we are all Spaghetti Monster's beautiful creatures.

Me, I dropped this series after that "Oh, turns out we were demons all along!" garbage from that island at the start. I'm expected to believe a whole island of demons just forgot that they were always demons? Feck off with that.

I actually just read the latest chapter out of morbid curiosity, because I'd heard that Gray had turned evil due to his devil slayer magic. And I thought to myself, 'That sounds interesting. But Mashima doesn't do interesting, so Gray's probably faking it.'. AND LO AND BEHOLD, it was another mashima style "plot development" that nobody bought from the start.

I do not find this offending in the least. I love Fairy Tail for the comedy, action, and fanservice, but some things I will admit make no sense. For example: Lisanna sent To Edolas, A stray Anima just happened to be where an injured Lisanna was and swapped her with a deceased Lisanna? I call Shananigans. Then, there Is Mira having Demon Fibers in her to use Demon Soul, if that were true, Demon Soul would have been a curse, as Demons use curses. Plus since she couldn't control it when she was young, wouldn't she be part demon? But why only her? The gene exists only in the oldest? Plus their is Doranbolt. He has memory manipulation magic, and infiltrated the council by wiping his own memory, yet has been a member of Fairy Tail since the beginning?! SHENANIGANS! Finally, Lumen Histore. Mavis was established as dead and a ghost. Yet her body is Lumen Histore, ready to be revived whenever. So how can she be a ghost if she isn't dead!!! Speaking of Mavis, why is it she didn't age one bit, yet Hades, Makarov's father, and the tree dude did?!

It seems some things he literally just craps out. Like Erza beating Kyouka without her senses. People tried to say it was her magic eye that let her see, but it wasn't explained in the Manga! Hell, they just say she could do it cause she's Erza!!!!!

At times yes. They actually took Gruvia a step further by having them live together for a year, Shows that The Demon Slayer Magic is corrupting him, and gave Gajeel and Levy a kissing scene. Then Natsu finally finds Igneel then resolves to get stronger to Kill Achnologia. But there is one thing I can't wrap my head around..... E.N.D.=Etherious Natsu Dragneel

When Silver was all like "I'm Deliora who possessed the body of your father!" I noticed a major plot-hole. The Deliora attack that killed Gray's father occurred before he became Ul's apprentice... But Deliora wasn't sealed until Ul sacrificed herself, which I assume was much later. Sooo... Silver's body would've been super decomposed by then, if not completely destroyed. Not to mention that those two battles took place in two entirely different locations... Oh, but it was all a lie. Okay.
...Oh, and Gray has demon-slaying magic now. And Igneel was inside of Natsu all along! ...Sorry, WHAT?

Though it seems a bit random, Igneel in Natsu can actually explain what happened during the fighting festival arc. Natsu couldn't pass through the Runes Freed set up, which was only meant to imprison those 80 years+. Natsu was 17, Gajeel was 19 I believe. Yet they couldnt leave. This is explained by the fact that Igneel and Metallica lived over 1000 years ago. As for the Silver is alive part, his lie could have been convincing if not for the big plot whole. I believe the bigger question with him is, how did he obtain Devil Slayer Magic when Tartoros uses Curses, hence the whole point of Face.

...The fact that THIS is the conclusion to the series-long mystery of the dragons is entirely anti-climactic, and the fact that your point may suggest that this was the planned outcome for most of the series only makes it seem worse.

It says something when the most interesting part of your manga's protagonist is that he's named gray. And speaking of gray, this image perfectly sums him up: No witty comeback here, really. And yet Tomohiro Yagi's Iron Knight was cancelled instead of this series. There is no justice in this world.

That just made me think of a different character called Grey who was meant to be kinda bland and dead... As he is a dead guy who really sounds dead and only has a handful of lines of dialog in a game called Valkyrie Profile... Β His armor is gray and he uses ice as his super move...
1000x more interesting than Gray. Β When about 5 lines of dialog at the end of a little chain of recruited players is more moving then all that manga... mistakes have been made.

I stopped watching after it kept doing this. With the exception of the first story arc of the anime when Natsu legitimately had to pick up something semi-new to survive, everything has just been them being beaten over and over until suddenly they're not.

Absolutely. Fairy Tail is a flawed anime/manga, in its storytelling especially. Lots of things are recycled, and often there are enough plot holes to cover the freaking moon.

3 r 4 months? It's only 600 or so chapters. I mean compared to Detective Conan... that dang book has over 900 chapters! That took me half a year to complete
