Nah, I think the ink weapons works like a water gun, in which going into the ink splotch to reload is like dunking the water gun underwater. It just refills the substance it's used to firing.

Nothing, the squids simply hold the guns with their beeks (Yes, all squids have beaks) untill they turn back to normal. Either that, or the guns some how also turns into the squids ink sack, which is actually a better question.

I know that squids have beaks but if you look at the splatoon squids they dint appear to have them its very confusing

I like to think that the inklings are constantly producing ink even during battle. This explains why even when not shooting, your tank refills. They are probably just faster at producing ink in squid form.

Perhaps the ink opens portals to the boarders of theΒ colored ink dimension, where the inklings can swim through while still being in the physical world, as well filling up their tanks simply by dipping into that border since it's made up entirely of ink.
It would explain how the Rampaging Octowhirl sinks into your big pool of ink.

I just can't play some first person games. It gives me simulation sickness. Even with Portal 2 I had to endure through some of it. Games where you have to look around a lot I think tend to be the worst for me.
