well if they can move water with the mind.
why can they just levitate it  and hold it there.

with a mix of the swam waterbenders technique that simply stored water in the plant roots they moved around.

plus water likes to bunch up like a lot of magnetic BBs

Yeah but she doesnt use plants she uses normal water. Even if you could manipulate water it cant grab onto things. things would just pass right through it.

No it makes perfect sense if you think about it enough. What with all the intricacies of it all, it stands as a testament to her skill as a bender.

Well they are acting like water is a movable solid that can grab stuff. Like she is manipulating rubber or plastic.
Solids pass through liquids. Liquids cannot grab solids

Not true. Everything made up of matter has the potential to move another, and you're forgetting about the distinct probability that a powerful waterbender could probably manipulate the density of the water they're bending Directly, until it becomes dense enough to ACT like rubber or plastic.

The part about Iroh is fan stuff. Everything else is pretty much straight out of the fourth episode. Sorry if spoilers.

Let's face it: the elderly in ATLA were considered the "Greatest Generation".....If Toph's fighting sucks, I WILL be pissed.

Pretty sure she's dead, brah.

She's alive. It was confirmed in "The Metal Clan" (She's on a journey for enlightenment)

Her status is currently unknown.  Aiwei says she used to visit, but no one's seen or heard from her in years.

Her WHEREABOUTS are currently unknown. If it turns out she's dead, then that would be one of the biggest DICK moves they pulled on Korra's group & the fans. (It wouldn't surprise me if Korra & Asami run into her when they're on their own - kinda like the scene from "The Old Masters" - or in this case, ONE "Old Master.")

Heh, Toph hears Kora and Asami's screams on the way to Ba-Sing-Se. That would be PERFECT Dejavu

Or they run into her after narrowly escaping that giant desert shark

DigidestinedofTrust In reply to worldends4me [2014-08-02 13:32:20 +0000 UTC]

But they're out of the desert now. They only stayed in the misty palms oasis and on the outskirts of it. In fact, they never really even went into the desert. Unless you didn't see yesterdays episode.

I just re-watched the episode. Didn't catch it the first time and/or it didn't register, so thanks for pointing it out.

Someone else pointed out Suyin was actually pushing her children to being perfect; but that didn't register me at first.

I sort of caught that vibe, but I think while she's pushing her children to be perfect, she's not entirely as forceful as her mothers parents were. She may have learned to adapt styles from both her grandparents and from her mother. Reluctant to let them go, but know that it's for their own well being. You can see the same kind of attitude from Lin when it comes to protecting Korra.

And she certainly gained some insight during her world-wide travels.
