Description
An old pic that never wanted to be finished. But finally I've gotten it to my satisfaction, enough that I can post it here on DA.Such a sad tale is Axel's. He does everything for the whiny, self absorbed Roxas- and the boy doesn't even give his feelings of friendship or more- the time of day.
And when the time of parting is nigh (people who have played know what I'm talking about) Roxas doesn't even say goodbye.. But the idiot WILL smile at Namine at the end. What a jerk. *Biased Axel fan talking*
Ah well.. I guess that's what you get from subtracting 13 from 8.

About the comments though, I admit, though they all have a point, I refuse to believe Roxas didn't care about Axel. Me being an akuroku fan, it hurts when people say this. When I really think about it, I think he does care for his friend.
I think Roxas is just not very...expressive about his feelings. That dousn't mean he don't care, just cause he cares for Xion and Namine. Remember when he missed Axel when he wasn't there at the clock tower? or when he got happy and bought Axel ice cream? what about that special scene of them one last moment together?
There's many ways to think about it, I mean Nomura does tend to hide or hint things. When Axel was dying, Sora said "Axel..." and who knows, that could've been Roxas saying that through him. Yes, he lost his memories of their friendship, and he did get mad at Axel one point for hitting Xion or whatnot, but thats cause they're friends too. (tho I don't like her much...) You gotta admit, the redhead did some wrong things too. But I for one refuse to believe Roxas doesn't care for the redhead. He's just probably the type to not open himself too much.
Just trying to stay on the positive side and cheer everyone up. <3 To a akuroku fangirl like me, Roxas loves Axel just as much as the redhead does, he's just not so open about it, and other complicated reasons.

I don't know, I think the reason that Roxas wasn't as expressive during Axel's death was due to the fact that he was a part of his ignorant Somebody at the time. Sora had no idea that Roxas was part of him, who Axel was, why he felt sad, and so on. So Roxas may have tried to break through to Axel, but Sora kept it down under the mindset of 'He's the enemy, I don't know why I'm sad. I don't even know him.'
With Namine, though, Sora had found out about Roxas and therefore was a bit more understanding.
But I don't know, it's been a while since I've played KHII.

I think Roxas really wanted to say Goodbye to Axel just didn't know how to say it. Yet again this is also the same kid that *Spolier Alert* as Xion faded away said "wait who will I eat ice cream with?" Oy somedays I think Axel was too nice for his own good when it came to Roxas. but whatever (Axel cosplayer speaking) But amazing picture I love it, it captures the mood really well.

I cling to the knowledge that the "who will I eat ice cream with" was a poor translation. In the original, he says "let's eat ice cream again, the three of us," which - while it isn't much better - has more of a sense of desperation to it. Don't die, that sort of thing.
...Granted, Roxas really should have said something when Axel died. But I like to think Sora had a hell of a migraine for a while after that, due to some wordless screaming.

Yep, Axel's not really part of my Org. members faves but I can't ignore that sad story of his, him risking everything for Roxas. It just makes me sad...And Sora showed way more concern for Axel when he was fading away.

Hmmm... I agree with you slightly. Roxas didn't say goodbye, true, but Axel also lied to him. Don't get me wrong I like both of them. But when you think about it, at the end; axel after his suicide move, Sora said "Axel" It seemed more like it was Roxas saying it than Sora. Roxas also has his memories altered by Namine, so for all we know it could have been her fault for that all. Along with DiZ and Xemnas. Riku also effected it all. Xion was just annoying to have in there, if she wasn't in there it would have been fine. But anyways, In the end during axel's "Death" He looks like he's speaking to Sora, but when you think about it it looks like he's also speaking to Roxas. For all we know Roxas could have been crying, but due to Sora he couldn't do anything. Maybe you should blame Sora, Riku, DiZ, Namine, and Xemnas instead.

First off, Awesome pic, captures sadness very well between these two. I like to think that when Axel disappears when you hear Sora say "Axel" all sad like that was Roxas. And you forget that right after that occurs Roxas becomes so pissed off he fights Sora in an epic scene. So yeah I think Roxas was a good friend. Once again amazing picture. Mad mad skillz

Agh, I stressed this so much to my friends! [who arent as KH devoted as I am] It's sad that Roxas doesnt see how much Axel gives to him, and in the end Axel gets nothing in return.

Wow...so much emotion...the use of black, white and grey make this pic seem very dark. Why, WHY can't Roxas be slightly nicer to Axel, I mean he even SACRIFICES himself for Roxas! I mean, COME ON, he LOVES Roxas, even if Square-Enix say he doesn't. This is a beautiful (if sad) picture. Keep up the good work.
