Hey! I made myself one out of excess white fabric but I want to know how many yards are needed for the basics (what you made in white)? I'm making some for theΒ localΒ koi club and I'm trying to emulate an Ogon, I don't want toΒ purchase extra yards as I probably will not use it agian.

If you use the pattern at the size it already is (no enlarging), you should be able make a whole bunch of solid-colored koi out of just one yard. But if you want to make koi that have more than one color, I think 12" of each color is a good amount of fabric to get and still have leftover fabric to make other things with.

Hey there ! I didn't really used your tutorial to make my fish plush but I read it few months before making the plushie, so I guess it was stuck somewhere in my head during the creation process

It took me a while to submit them but I've been admiring the pattern ever since I found it. It is singularly the easiest, most well built pattern I have found for anything, and while it took me a little while to get the hang of it, these fish are such a total blast to make, and they are just SO pretty.

I have to thank you again for making this pattern available for free - it's such a wonderful, clear pattern and it making those fishies helped me get through a really hard time in my life. <3 I find myself wanting to make more fish every time I find a scale pattern fabric or cow-print patterned fabric.

You know, something I saw as a child was the most beautiful little cloth Koi at an art fair. It was actually a purse as well and I loved it so much, but I was all of 10 and didn't have any money and my parents didn't have a lot at that point either. So my mom couldn't buy it for me, but she bought herself a flower (which was actually half as much as the Koi) and it just broke my heart. This is a wonderful pattern, and I already plan to start looking for material to make that fish that got away. So thanks for posting this, I'm really looking forward to it.
