I decided to model a Hylian shield, i thought theyd be pretty easy since its not riddled with detail, and it wasnt too bad
the only downside is when i bent it the details didnt go with it at much, ill fix this tomorrow and see which version i prefer, personally i like the shadows underneath the details, makes it looks bad-ass
anyway i just modelled and textured this and its in my fire temple scene at the bottom of the stairs [link]
I should think ill model the master sword tomorrow, just to complete the set of the two
for any keen eyed hardcore zelda fans, can any of you tell me the mistake in my picture?

I can see one inconsistancy, although it's probably not the right one, but the hole on the body of the eagle is a tad too large, and plus the body is a little too pointed upwards wise.

any graphic errors you see is just my fault for being lazy and just using photoshops magic wand tool to select it from an image and missing details
but nope thats not it, its more to do with the games the shield and scene are from

Ah I see now, the Fire Temple is from OoT, but the shield you've used is from Skyward Sword.

just looked it up, they have the same shield, so yeah i guess so lol
im not a massive zelda buff at all, my girlfriend is though
i knew it was from twilight princess, didnt know it was the same as skyward sword

Yeah, the only difference with the SS and TP shields is the SS shield is a little brighter due to cel-shading.

It would probably look interesting, I'm currently waiting patiently for Skyward Sword to release, but I probably won't be able to play it because my baby cousin has my Wii.

S'cuse me for interrupting, but the Gamestop I live near has a binder with video game release dates. It says Skyward Sword will be released sometime in November.
I don't know how accurate it is, but at least it might be something to go off of.

i dont think weezy is interested in skyward sword, whenever she talks about it she just pokes fun at how you can run with the sword in the air, shell probably get it eventually though lol

you should turn on the light in the picture. it's just a brown soup.

if you look at the link i put in the description to see the full scene, youll see its lit buy fire, hence the red, and the scene itself is all stone and dirt, thats why its so brown
i actually did an ambient occlusion pass and added it in photoshop AND brightened it (by my girlfriends recomendations) so that it looked nicer, im going to do a render in a white environment to show the shield off properly in a few minutes

if you do it like that to show it inside one setup - you might use a nicely scruffed reflection map that reflects some light but also shows that the shield has been used quite often and is not as polished as on the very first day...
Otherwise by just looking on that picture noone knows that and this picture is really dark.
might be a nice model but we don't see a lot in this lighting.

i know i know, like i said ill do a white environment render now, it was late last night when i did this and im still very happy with how this looks
i like the idea of having a roughed up version of the shield, ill look into it see what i can do to the metals
ill do a white render now, only problem is reflections, the metal wont reflect much except white without an environment map, but its fine i just want to show off the model
unless you have a suggestion for the reflections? id love some advice

The reverse yellow triangle underneath the eagle is gone?

No, I know that version of the shield is specifically OoT-- in fact, Nintendo changed the design immediately after because of Tetraforce theories.

actually the shield without the 4th triangle is from twilight princess, i realised this last night when looking for referance images, this one kept popping up, the main difference i see is the missing 4th triangle and the brakcet around the triforce
