Description
About six months ago I was working on an entry for a Legend of Zelda retro challenge. I completed the scene but only got halfway through with modeling Link before the deadline came up, so I was only able to post the scene. I decided to make it into a wallpaper. Some of the texture resolutions are a little inconsistent, but overall I was satisfied with it.Related content

Do you mind if I use this as a thumbnail for my Let's Play?

oh, btw, would it be ok if I linked this page to a Zelda thread on BlenderArtists.org? I'm sure everyone would really like the pic

woah, that is seriously awesome!
the shield is really good, must have taken a while to model...unless it's a Texture that deforms the model?

Nope, I modeled all the details on it. And it did take a while yes. You can see a better image of it here . There's some odd bending that if I modeled now I would be able to correct. You could share it on that thread, sure Funny thing is I made this image in Anim8or. Blender's come a loooot farther than Anim8or has since I made this image though.

wow, that is one seriously nice shield I'm guessing the bending issue is from an external object that deforms it? (in Blender they call it a Lattice modifier)
thanks a bunch for the thread thing

Yes, i modeled all the details separate and then deformed them using a lattice. Because they were separate pieces though, they didn't all deform properly so I had to manually adjust it. Plus if you notice around the edges of the shield there are some rigid lines as it curves, this was because of the detail of the shield and Anim8or not having a smooth points tool. Thanks for the interest

Lattices are sometimes a pain, but they're really useful...

You've got it right actually, it took me five days. I had intended to add a window allowing light to shine through but I guess I never did that... I oughta re-do it sometime!
Yeah you can go ahead and remake it, send me a note with the link to it when it's done Thank you for the comment by the way.
