First of course is the idea...
I decided to try a self portrait since this was the first (actually second) page in a sketchbook I just bought.
So I started with no actual plan of attack, just putting graphite to paper.
I started with the image of myself holding the pencil.
Once that was finished I began to work in the details of the story.
Everything I draw in graphite is real rough and unfinished because I do most of the permanent and detailed work with ink.
Oni should know this...he once told me he didn't like the way I ink because the final product looks nothing like the original.
Inkers are not tracers!!! Hahaha. Good times...gooooood times.
Anyway thats pretty much the procedure.
