Making my first fursuit ^.^it's the head...
Materials and tools used:
-Foam from an old mattress
-hot glue
and small things found from my room XD (dunno what they're in english)
the jaw movement was an accident, I was supposed to make a hand moveable jaw, but I noticed I could move it with my own jaw.
I have no idea how i'll make the eyes, I'll try as realistic as possible, and I'm happy that margay's have huge eyes normally.
the fur will be here after the next week.

Got any advice for a first timer?.. I'm starting on a my first fursuit for Halloween and I'm having trouble making the move able jaw. Help would be appreciated It.~

Well, I first only wanted to make an openable jaw, but it turned out to be moving too. It seems to help if you have the jaw piece going under your chin so it opens when you open your mouth enough. nothing special needed for that :3
That there was my first fursuit, now I'm making a new one for cosplay reasons, since I'm not too happy about the results :'3

Thanks so much~ Right when you replied i made the jaw xD but it doesn't snap shut when I'm done talking, jaw movements etc. And I'm not using elastic or anything for it. I'm just using foam. So I'm working on the problem right now and I really appreciate the help~

put a few rubber bands inside, check that they're not too tight though, and try hide them well. :3

we would get along well, wish I had a pic of my standard poodle costume! I love building costumes like that

I like making them too, but I just lack materials at times and have no money to buy them. + I'm very lazy and busy with everything else than drawing XD

Yeah, the reason i did a standard poodle is becuase the fur was cheap, i have a design i came up with for a wolf but when i make that one I am going to be very picky about materials. but i cant wait till I have to money for the foux fur.

yeah the muzzle is big, but I'm still aiming to have it look abit more realistic than Maia is in my drawings.

actually he happend to come sleep next to me when i was making the head, found out he was a useful face shape reference at the same time ^^ and I just had to take the photo of the cute style he was sleeping in :3

miullakin sattuu olemaan suurin osa suittitarpeista valmiina, mutta en vain saa millään aloitettua tekemistä kun pelkään että sössin. >'D aaaa pitänee kerätä rohkeutta.

heti ku ite löysin nää materiaalit nii rupesin tekemään x3 vaikka siinä on se sössimisen pelko nii aina voi ajatella että jos ei mitään tee niin ei koskaan mitään tule ja muutenkin materiaalit ollu ilmasia tähän asti.
kankaat saan ens viikon jälkeen :3 suht edullisesti kaverin kautta
silmien tekemistä pitää vielä pohtia

toivottavasti tulee laatukangasta, ettei karvat irtoa. o/
millä tyylillä meinasit tehdä silmät? "sarjakuvamaisella" tyylillä vai realistisemmat?
itse ajattelin, että kun teen suitin (ainakin pään ja tassut, häntä on jo) niin käytän [link] tuota tyyliä silmiin.

semi realistisella ainakin. mut mahdollisimman simppelisti.
haluisin kyllä kokeilla tuota ohjetta, mutta se näyttää aika vaikealta, enkä tiiä mistä materiaalit.

mie olen vähän tehnyt jonkin sortin tiedonhankintaa valuhartsista, mitä tuohon tarvitsee. ainakin Hobby Point nimisestä liikkeestä saa kirkasta XOR valuhartsia/valumuovia, jonka ei pitäisi ajan kuluessa edes kellastua. pitänee varmaan siitä kokeilla väsätä, jos onnistuisi. Suomen rajojen sisäpuolella ei liian monessa paikassa kirkasta ainetta vissiin myydä, yleensä kaikki kehottavat tilaamaan ulkomailta tai jostain.
harmi vain, että tuo Hobby Pointin XOR-töhnä kuulema on löyhkältään aikamoista "tappokamaa"..

ei yhtään hassumpi idea tuo läpinäkyvälle kankaalle maalaaminen - näkyvyyskin saattaisi olla ihan hyvä niin tehdessä. se kun on aika tärkeä juttu myöskin. :3

totta, itseasiassa näkeeköhän niistä valumuovisilmistä läpikään? jos siihen kerta maalataan sinne keskelle ne värit o.o

noh, valumuovisilmistä ei ole tarkoitus nähdä läpi. niihin voi laittaa ulkosyrjälle esim. verkkoa,josta näkee läpi:
