Description
Continuing my bizarre habit of giving random characters a complete body, I had been wondering what Galeem from Smash Ultimate would look like with a full body, so I decided to make some pixelart of it! Does he look kind of... innocent now?Also, stylistically this is a huge departure from my older pixel-art, and is also much smaller. It's a lot more fun to do at this size and it only took a day to finish, where the old ones more or less took a whole month O: I'm still doing animated things, of course!

But yeah, great sprite. Your stuff overall is fantastic. I hope I can get to a level of skill that people like you have someday. I've been improving the past year a ton though. I still need to get better with animation though. I've been starting to use Aseprite, but I need to use it more because imalazyasssometimes. What you use to animate though? Just kinda curious.

I use ASEprite to animate stuff now lol
I use it for all of my spritework, really. It's very good, just takes some time to get used to it.

how do you approach gradient shading that goes through different hues? I've always wanted to try it

Honestly, ASEprite did most of the work for me. In that program, I just used the gradient function with the indexed color mode, and it automatically pulled colors from my color palette and made it into an interesting gradient(rather than making 100 new colors that blends too linear and smoothly for pixel art).
Like you'd just pick red and blue out of the palette and it'd stuff all the similar colors between to help it connect when you make a gradient out of them.
Had to manually cut out the colors that were out of place, of course.
Probably not the best way to do it, but I hope you learned something

ASEprite is really good! Just make sure you setup the UI right as things are kinda cluttered by default, but it's worth it!
