Description
Chess Piece today is officially four years old. Somehow, I managed to stick with this comic long. With 15 issues under my belt and more or less halfway through the entire series, it's time to host the usual anniversary pictures. Here's the main cast and their new duds for the second half. Now, some thanks:
Thanks to my family who supported my artwork in every way, including my sardonic little sister - I love you even if you can be a pain in the ass sometimes.
I thank my friends both off and online whose been with me in amazing times. A big extend to my peeps over at work who manages to make my job fun and easier with your shining personalities.
whose been with me since High School.
who I often feel is like my older sister as much as a best friend.
whose a joy to talk with.
whose possible one of the most sturdiest, calmest friends I've ever had.
For introducing me to DA. I still remember how we first met, ahaha!
Special extensions to...
Who probably should not be wasting her time pimping my work. Honey, it's not that good. Still, I appreciate it.
You have a bright future, my friend. Your art is always diverse and amazing.
I know we don't chat much as we used to, but thanks for still AIMing me now and then.
I thank Nickelodeon and yes, even you, Hartman, because without you, I wouldn't have wasted five years of my life addicted to a children's cartoon, wasting money and time buying whatever precious little merchandise you have and creating a fansite for it. It's all your damn fault, you know that?
And of course, to you, the readers. Honestly, I don't know why and how you put up with this low-budget comic, but thanks for tuning in to each and every page. Here's to future CP and eventually, my own original creations.

Dammit, this is why I don't look at CP stuff! *is now depressed*
I followed it on-and-off from issue 5 onward, and it's so strange to look at the comments now and see people fangirling over Lockdown/Prowl instead of Danny/Ghostwriter XD. Look at it this way though: doing Chess Piece gave you the experience you needed to be able to put out Discovery, which is an extremely awesome comic in its own right .

I don't regret making Chess Piece purely from an experimental POV. I originally did this comic to to challenge myself and see if I really could make a long-lasting webcomic. Four years for me is pretty good, especially since I've never lasted this long or paid this much love to a fancomic before. I hate how the story turned out now (more complicated than it has any right to be and I originally set it out so it wouldn't be a convoluted mess), but it was fun working on it.

Okay, I've heard of this 'Chess Piece' alot but I haven't seen it.
Is it here? Under a different name? On another website?
I'm rather interested in reading it seeing as it was Rec'ed to me.

I've seen removed all the pages in my DA page because I don't like a cluttered gallery. Keep in mind that even though this comic is nearly 800 pages, it's canceled. I consider it somewhat of an old shame at this point. Hope you enjoy regardless.

Omigosh, this is amazing. I've heard all about your CP works in your other Vlad and Danny pictures, but im waiting to read it untill I go to a friends house with wireless internet.
...and then I shall stay up all night reading the whole, entire, thing. Hopefully i'm able to pull that off. XD I know you have a ton of pages though!
I love how you drew Danny in this picture, he looks awesome! All evil and stuff. Gotta love the glasses. XD Vlad looks awesome too. I really like how you decided to have him have the blue skin all of the time. ^^

And yes, I enjoy it alot!
I am hoping to start a fancomic for DP of my own soon. I had the idea a while back, and then I believe you are becoming my inspiration. XD
I also have a Vlad/Danny fanfic im working on, if you would like to see it sometime after I post it up over on FF.net.

You can read the first issue and part of the second in my gallery (in the scrapbook section). Issues #10 through the current are in my main gallery.
If you wanna read the full comic, I have posted them here: [link]
The green dog is Cujo.

Danny looks like he's about to become gleefully unhinged. I love that side of him just because it's not what we're supposed to expect. Tucker looks pretty darn demented, too. There's fighting, there's love- this picture has everything!
Congratulations on four years! I really admire your dedication to this project and I think it's proof that you have the will as well as the talent to eventually succeed beyond this forum.
who I often feel is like my older sister as much as a best friend.
Dude, you cannot be serious. I'm like the baby sibling without any older ones in my family!
...But I am honored. Really.
However, if you're going to claim I'm like an older sibling, I'm going to take that as license to tell you to go draw a tree!

Honestly, you kinda are like an older sister. I'm the oldest in my family, so I have no idea how to feels to be the younger one! Plus, with the constant advice you give me and the fact that you're a lot - a hell of a lot - more levelheaded then I am just proves you deserve such a moniker.

I don't know how it feels like to be either, but I think my experience is more like a younger sibling. I've always been the focus, gotten the attention, not been expected to be overly independent- it means I've had it easier, but it also means I've a startling lack of useful common skills. I've always had to be just responsible enough for myself, sometimes not even then. In my areas of competency- which are more cerebral than utilitarian- I'm very good; in all other ways, I am a ditz. So, it's weird to hear you say that! I feel like I just tell you things you already know- and anything you don't know, you already know you don't know, so you're cautious about it and listen to others rather than run headlong into something stupid. (Some of the other people I love, they will do that and it makes ya wanna scream.) Any levelheadedness, that's just my experience from already running around like a nut and knowing it gets me nowhere.

Pretty much, I guess. Cue it to my neurotic, easily panicking nature. For pete's sake, at the local KFC, I had to avoid the giant windows because they scare the FUCK out of me out of fear some guy is gonna jump and start shooting through the damn things. Those windows practically scream, "HEY! COME GET US!"

No, I'm the same. I would ask my mother to accompany me on errands because I was just too freaked about talking to the store clerks. Yanno, people there for me to ask those questions, and yet I didn't want to approach a stranger! It seemed so weird and intrusive and exactly how did I end up in customer service? I've come aways in getting over that.

I like to say I am slowly improving. I mean, I work in an area where I NEED to talk to people, so I've gotten out of my shell a little bit. So yay for me, I guess.

I'm.... honored by the special mention. I pimp work that I feel is worthwhile, which I think yours is. It has a sense of wonder and play that so many miss out on as adults. You're simply wonderful. ^^
....but wow. This one is pretty awesome. Is Maddie's hair color impacted by that Silver artbook you showed a picture from to me?
...but yeah. Lovely piece. And I love the little details on Danny's outfit and his manic expression.

I know I don't ever leave comments, but I sincerly enjoy this comic--and I lost interest in DP nearly three years ago.
Your plot is wonderfully well thought out, your drawings inspiring and of a high quality, and your grammar (which I very much appreciate, by the way) is always perfect.
I'm very glad CP is around, and I am an avid fan eagerly awaiting more

It's funny you should mention grammar because I actually get a lot of people pointing out even the smallest of errors from it. I appreciate it because in the past four years, I like to think my grammar has improved. I learned many things that I can't believe I made simply grammatical mistakes to when it's so blatant in retrospect.

Well, as I said I appreciate that it's so....Perfect? To me at least. It's disheartening to see so many comics with just terrible grammar and spelling... So it's very wonderful to see some one who's got an amazing plot who can actually spell and be grammatically correct! ^^ keep up your superb work, Neoyi! I expect great things from you!

I try my best. Despite the grammar comment I made, even I get annoyed when someone can't distinguish "they're" and "their", but I'm not nearly a big enough Grammar Nazi to go running around in frustration over it. Well, yet! My OCD can take me into crazier directions yet!
