Description
After an easy start, I decided to go for something really difficult: Early 80ies Alice. No trademark make-up, no mane of long hair... and in my eyes the most gender confused (or maybe rather confusing) of the whole lot.
Impudent, angry, aggressive, out to rattle the bars of a cage that seems only to exist in his mind.
Turned out a lot more flirty than aggresive - and with a bit more meat on the bones.
Shouldn't have listened so much to "Prettiest cop on the block" I guess.
Not my favourite incarnation of Alice, but music-wise there are definitevely some great song from that era.
Let me tell you, it's hard to get good reference material for that period, few pictures about, so I had to improvise on the outfit. The cropped top was a bit over the top, I think...
Managed to find some good reference material for Alice, but ended up re-drawing the whole picture rather than changing this version. Have a look! [link]

Yeah, the look was fun to do though it came out different than what intended when I started this pic, but Alice not being Alice is strange - and with sun glasses? Why hide those eyes???

Oh god I lol'd so hard.
This is probably my least favorite of his many incarnations... He came off to me as just so lost. Granted, he had an excellent reason for it, but man.
What a character.

So did I, this was actually really fun to do. While I'm not overly fond of this period Alice-wise, some of my fav songs belong there, so I couldn't ignore it.
And you're right about him coming off as lost. I had the feeling he was rebelling just for the sake of it, but himself not sure against what. Thoroughly confused, going through the motions and spitting angry for it - maybe because he had no clue what the trouble was?

That's a very good way to sum it up. Confused, melancholy... The music that he produced during this phase requires a very sophisticated ear to appreciate.
Fortunately, the man can rebound like nothing else.

And even more fortunately, he gave up on that knot with the chop sticks that made him look like my grand ma. ;-p Though the chopsticks had a come-back later, come to think of it.
My, the shallow fangirl is raising her head.
Let's see what I can come up next with... it's high time for a less troubled and more sober incarnation. But which one to pick...?

Also I have a challenge for you. (Feel free to ignore, but I'll love you forever and have your babies if you do.) [link]

I just knew there was one Alice challenge that I hadn't taken on yet. I'm wondering, to you have an idea where I could get a good quality close-up of the face? I'll try to freeze the DVD, but if you have another idea, I'd be glad if you could help me out!

Dang, I don't know. I MIGHT be able to find a good screen shot, but quality would be debatable...

I experimented a bit with the pause button (somehow I always manage to stop when he makes the funniest faces...) and I think I've got it now. All I need is something to look at while I sketch.
I've got a good feeling about this, it could be great if I don't rush it!
Oh, and off topic, I got myeself 2 of my drawings printed on shirts - and it looks good. And the best part? I'm the only one who has one of those.

I'm looking forward to it. :3 I have that problem to, though, trying to get a hold of a picture with him and Freddy from Trashes the World, and again when you catch part of his speedo later on.
And I'd make a shirt with one of my pictures on it, but I'm pretty sure some of my family would be offended by some of my better ones. *shrug*

And here I thought I was weird for noticing.
Well, some companies offer all kind of clothing to print on, if not a shirt, maybe something less visible? I think the company I chose offered panties too, but of yourse there's less space on those.

That scene is funny, but overall I don't care much for the sketches and prefer to watch the "concert only" version.
That 'Herr Director' fellow is really getting on my nerves with his obsession about the "Coop-a Gang".
Not sure what I can do about *that* challenge, I'll let it simmer a bit at the back of my mind. Honestly, right now, it looks like something the cat brought home and you're afraid it might not be dead yet... That one has to be approached with a lot of caution - and maybe a sense of humor!

Hey, there's no other way to approach it. I just like to remind people that that scene exists.
Also, I find a lot of kids find the sketches hilarious; it's a great compromise for when I'm babysitting.

Found another scene in the same vein...
Would you have recognized him? It's so NOT the hair style for him...

Hey and since I'm still investigating ways to day, I found a pretty neat hanging that you probably know already. he look so groggy like he's really been fighting hard (though in that era it's probably not fighting that got him there). What do you think? Love 0:40... though I bet if that was a regular part he must have been black and blue.

Oh, how very Greg Brady of him... xD I am looking up and down for that movie, I swear to god, it's just no where. (Unless I order online, which I don't do because I'm... ffffff... old fashioned I guess.)
I love those old clips, though, I like to whip them out on my hardcore friends and HEY GUYS, REMEMBER HOW THIS EXISTS, HUH, YOU GUYS, HUH? HUH?
Also, god, I'll never forget the first time I saw your second clip, because right as the lightning hits, something flew by my face. I jumped so high I knocked over the chair I was sitting on. Scared me half to death, and it took my brain a minute to catch up and go, oh wait, I'm on the floor now...
It's dangerous to be an Alice Cooper fan.
And man, that fall he took... doesn't quite look choreographed, does it? It's entirely possible that he's JUST that good an actor... which to an extent I think he WANTS us to think...
I sit there watching that and for whatever reason, I'm wondering what they were saying after. (yeah, I know you aren't supposed to talk on stage, but it happens anyways, so.)
Excutioner 1: Oh dammit, he fell again.
Executioner 2: Are you okay, Alice?
Alice: I'm fine, let's do this!
And this cracks me up for some reason. Just... ooooh. Awkward.
Not that there's any video of me completely fucking up a number floating aroud the internet... >>'

I do a lot of online shopping, Amazon is my best friend, it's the only place to get UK/US imports at a reasonable price and in a reasonable delivery time.
I guess that is one clip to shock the hardcore "he's a bad ass hard rock act, dammit!" fans. And I can see why you like to da that.
I agree about the fall, it looked more like his feet couldn't keep up when he got dragged up to the top of that platform.
And while you can certainly learn how to take a fall without hurting yourself too much (I had Judo classes for a year and the first few ones were spent doing nothing else but learning how to fall safely) with that turn and the hands bound that didn't look all that good. But it made for some nice realism there.
Though I noticed he didn't fall on the stairs, lucky him, maybe he's a better actor than I give him credit for.

I don't know, I guess i just prefer to go out myself and buy things. No real reason for it, I guess... It's just more fun that way. *shrug*
I like to pull it out on my dad occasionally. He was about 13 when Alice first got big, and I think my dad likes to pretend that certain Alice Cooper things just didn't happen, so he can hold on to this pristine image of the guy. Then I'll whip out Good to See You Again Alice Cooper, and just watch him RAGE.
Yeah, that fall, kinda looks to me like he just missed a step. I should know, I replayed it about 500 times, just cackling like mad the whole time. (I know, I'm such a nice gal.)
Even though I know fake falls are relatively easy to do, (I'm doing one right now in the number I'm in) I just don't buy that that was one of them. But hey, you know, that's okay. My teacher likes to tell me, if we screw up, most of the time, the audience will think it's part of the act.
Which has come in handy SO MUCH over the years, I'm telling you.
Also, I like how even though his hands are tied behind his back, he's still loose enough to drag his arm across his face. Now THAT takes talent.

Watched again, the fall might be faked, he does a little turn (watch the feet), but the landing look a little harder than it needed to be.
Wow, you really got to trust your friends when they get to hang you each night. They are the ones that have to make sure that you're attached correctly...

Well, the possibilities always there. Even if it is, though, I reserve the right to make fun of him for it.
And this is only somewhat related, but my favorite catchphrase for when me and my friends are about to go into something incredibly stupid and potentially dangerous, (which happens more often then you'd think around here...) I like to say: "You guys screw this up, and I'm coming back from the grave and kicking your ass."
This does nothing to phase Shani, who routinely tells me in no uncertain terms that she is going to kill me.
We're a loving bunch.

Oh, it's submitted under traditional because digital coloring was just a quick 30 min. job, while drawing and inking was done traditionally and took longer. usually submit it according to the part of it that takes the most time.
