Layers or panels?
For layers I'm at about 70 right now and thats with everything lined and just the first 3 panels flat colored
As for panels, this one has about 20 x.x

Forgive me for saying so, but that seems inefficient somehow? Maybe it's different for comics than it is for drawings, I dunno. I mean, this sounds like it's really hard, or at least involves a LOT of work, and I'd just think there would be more efficient ways to do things? I don't want this comic to break you or anything, no matter how much I enjoy it.

Usually I have so many layers because it's easier for me to work off of more layers than less, believe it or not.
Say I'm trying to overlap a square over a triangle for example. If I did both on the same layer and was trying to erase the triangle, I have to be careful not to erase the square.
Where if I did them on separate layers, I don't have to worry about erasing the square? I make a lot of the layers because of situations like that.
The work involved doesn't bother me, but I do worry that I won't upload fast enough because of it..? Ive seen a lot of comic artists where they get criticized for how long they take and while I'm aware I have the liberty to take as much time as I need--
It still worries me that the time taken will drive people away? Idk

Work at the pace you want to, it's no problem.
Just as long as you actually FINISH the comic one of these days. The one thing I actually object to is when a work, especially a really good one, is flat out abandoned. There was this really good one I found that started with a pacifist run Frisk and a genocide Chara switching timelines at their respective moments of truth...and it was stopped right before it was gonna get REALLY good. I can't even remember that comic's name now.
And do NOT get me started on Super Mario Bros. Z.

It's actually in my best interest in pretty much every aspect to continue putting out pages, so that shouldn't be a problem 
This is also the first comic I've ever created, so I'm kinda learning as I go with what works and what doesn't? That's also a big part of why I'm doing this is because it's a learning opportunity.
