They must have hugged for a while, it didn’t seem it though. If you like the person enough, a hug could very well last a long time without the two knowing and this one did just that. Omin was overwhelmed in happiness that he found himself crying. It was a new feeling to him altogether and he loved it. He felt…normal for once like this emotion should be natural and not something to hold back on.

Lilith hadn’t said a word to him. For one she couldn’t fit any into it with the way they kept on hugging. She wanted to tell him what doctor Quakk had said to her. He had visited before Omins return and spoke to her about her recovery. What had caused it, how he treated it, how well of a job he’d done and other things like that. Though there was one problem that had stuck in her head since he had left. One that was not treatable or couldn’t be fixed without making it worse. The one thing she loved and it was taken from her. She couldn’t help but cry.

Omin stopped hugging and noticed the sudden tears. Anyone else would think these were happy tears due to the current events, but no. Omin knew Lilith too well to know that these were indeed sad. Why was she upset? Though he didn’t need to ask such a question. He looked behind her and noticed her tail fin. It was different. It wasn’t complete. In the fin for as far as Omin could see there was a slit that was almost all the way down. This is why Lilith was crying.

She loved to swim, like any mudkip would. She used to swim all day when her mother was alive, so she told Omin. Now that this injury had occurred, she couldn’t anymore. It would be painful in water and would affect her swimming. Worse still it would risk making it bigger if she did.

Lilith was in a world of hurt and Omin soon stopped being happy. His heart sank deep and his thoughts became that of guilt. He knew whose fault it was all too well. He sat back watching Lilith pour water from her eyes and thought to himself.
I’m so sorry Lilith………… I am the one to blame… … I’m sorry.
