A bit of a what if for A Song of Ice and Fire exploring a scenario where Rhaenys Targaryen, 'The Queen Who Never Was', married Viserys Targaryen instead of Corlys Velaryon, and thereby eventually becoming Queen Rhaenys I with Viserys as her husband and King-Consort. In canon, as you may know, Rhaenys married Corlys Velaryon and while Viserys married Aemma Arryn, and with their two competing claims, the Great Council of 101 AC happened and elected Viserys as King. Here, the two wed each other and Rhaenys is able to ascend the Iron Throne since at the end of the day, their children will be succeeding them anyways.I was inspired here by a ASOIAF Alternate History/Self-Insert fanfiction story called High Tide by Tertius711 , which I have previously done art for, which is about a person from our world getting inserted into the body of Corlys Velaryon from ASOIAF. It seems like that story is in fact going to be exploring this very scenario, hence the art above.
Like with my previous Viserra and Corlys High Tide AU images, I overall tried to give the piece a whole semi-Renaissance painting look.
