Synopsis:
For the past five thousand years, The Gem Homeworld has been threatened by the wrath of an evil space tyrant. Every millennia, this creature comes to lay waste to Homeworld and its people are helpless against his awesome power. To them, he is known simply as "The Destructor" . . . But to Steven, he is a Spacegodzilla!
When Spacegodzilla comes to make his annual visit to Homeworld, The Diamonds send a distress call to Steven and the Crystal Gems. But when Spacegodzilla sets his sights on Earth, Steven and the Gems are put to the ultimate challenge! As soon as Spacegodzilla makes his big debut at Beach City, his ultimate foe comes to shore . . . Godzilla! The two titans have a brief encounter until Spacegodzilla retreats and sets a course for Empire City. The space tyrant turns Empire City upside down as he forges a crystal fortress in an attempt to terraform Earth into his new kingdom! Now Steven and the Crystal Gems must save the Earth by making an unlikely alliance with The King of the Monsters!
In case you're wondering: Yes, this is where Pink Diamond Godzilla comes in to play (Hence, the pink crystal dorsal fins in the background):

Hey, what exactly draws SG to Homeworld anyway?

The urge to conquer another planet, I guess.

... so it's been going to the same planet, one that's probably around a galaxy away from where it was born, repeatedly, at least five times now, because it wants to conquer planets? Is it fought off and most of Homeworld's galaxy is barren?

Well, technically, it's every millennia, not every year (one millennia is 1,000 years.) In my head canon, Spacegodzilla terraforms planets for resources, much like what Homeworld was doing prior to the Gem War on Earth. Once the planet he conquers is out of resources, he moves on to the next one. Every millennia, he keeps returning to Homeworld, since its planet is thriving with resources, but Homeworld's forces manage to drive him away, if only temporarily. During that time in between, he goes around the galaxy in search of another planet to terraform.
Some commenters speculated that Spacegodzilla was created as a result of the Diamonds tampering with G-Cells as a prototype to the Cluster that went horribly, so you could say he might be seeking revenge against his creators. Honestly, I really like that concept. You could, potentially, view that a parallel to Godzilla in the original 1954 film, where Godzilla seeks revenge on the species (humans) that created him. I really like hearing other people's interpretations of this crossover.

... I LIKE IT! Though what exactly does he consider a resource? Besides turning everything into crystals and feeding off their power?

Well, it could be multiple things like minerals, magma, radiation, etc.

I get how minerals and radiation would work, but how would magma help him?

He could use it for heating purposes, obviously. Most likely for creating crystals, since crystals are formed from intense heat and pressure.

Fair enough.
So, how do you think this would play out? I mean obviously the day would be saved thanks to Pink Godzilla, but beyond that? What’s the ultimate fate of SG? Does the Diamond Mech get any action? How the heck do they get Godzilla to Homeworld anyway?

Godzilla never goes to Homeworld. Like I said in the synopsis in the description, the final battle happens in Empire City on Earth. My idea is that Spacegodzilla ends up being obliterated by Pink Diamond Godzilla by his pink spiral/focused laser atomic breath, similar to how he's defeated by Godzilla's atomic breath in the original Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla.

Ah right forgot about that. In that case, what is it that sets his sights on Earth then?

This is some pretty sweet artwork bud, look forward to seeing more in the future.
Anyways, it’s cool how SpaceGodzilla here is the result of the dimands tampering w/ G-cells and it going horribly wrong (as it always does for those who tamper w/ nature).
On a side-note, I have an idea (feel free to use) that maybe SpaceGodzilla was the prototype doomsday weapon before they moved onto the creating the cluster, I don’t know. But yeah, this is really good. 👍

Nope. MOGUERA doesn't appear at all in this. Though, you could say Obsidian is the equivalent of MOGUERA in this story. Personally, I think Obsidian would be a huge improvement. lol

So what's the origin your take on Spacegodzilla would have? Did it always look like Godzilla or did it absorb G-Cells to gain that form? If the former, what do you suppose it used to look like, and if the latter, how? Biollante or Mothra?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
nerdsman567 In reply to maxvision92 [2019-07-22 17:45:42 +0000 UTC]
Spacegodzilla's origin would mostly be the same as it was in the original film. The main difference being the Gems are the cause of his creation. My idea was that the Homeworld Gems fought Godzilla on Earth as some point during the Gem War. They fire a laser canon from one of their warships to try and kill Godzilla, but its ineffective. As a result, the canon blast causes some of Godzilla's cells to go into outer space, where they go into a blackhole and mutate into Spacegodzilla.

So then I can assume your version of Godzilla is based more on LegendaryGoji, then? If he's old enough to have attacked the Gem colony that is.
