Obviously, I didn't spend this summer exactly how I had planned... At the beginning of the summer, I had so many plans for various plushies I wanted to make, most of them dragons... and I didn't finish a single one. My pile of unfinished plushies just keeps growing...

Eventually, you guys will see hopefully all of these projects finished. But I am a fickle crafter. I've been reluctant to admit it, even to myself, but I just can't stay working on the same thing, or in the same medium, for too long before I want to take a break from it. And if it's something I'm just doing in my free time for fun, it's hard to keep myself working on it. So all summer, I kept telling myself to work on plushies... but it just never happened.

Insteeeaaad... I worked on THIS ! It's a project I've been working on in my spare time for about 2 and a half years, but just never felt it was good enough to share before. It is still nowhere near even close to being finished (and I doubt it ever really will), but I figured it's time to share it anyways.

In short, it is an online database of free sewing patterns which I have found in various corners of the internet. 95% of them are plushie patterns, of which there are over 1200 in the database so far (I have found at least just as many more to add...). Eventually, I'm going to add sewing patterns for plenty of other things, but so far I've only added one or two of each to just create a frame for everything for when I really start adding those patterns. And most likely, I will predominantly just add plushie patterns for a long time.

But anyways, if you're looking for plushie patterns to try, feel free to look through my database ! If you do, there are three main things to keep in mind:

1. Even though it is in a wiki format, my database is not really designed for using the search bar. In my opinion, the easiest way to navigate is to go to the "Plushie Sewing Patterns" page (which can be easily searched), scroll down to whatever type of plushie you're looking for and click it, then on that page click on the picture closest to what you want to make.

2. Currently, between 1/3 and 1/2 of the patterns on my database are not in English. However, many of these are typed clearly, and can be easily translated using the (free) Google Translate app's scan feature.

3. Not all of the database is finished. Blue words are working links. Red words are links that will exist in the future, but no page has been added yet for them to link to.

If you have any questions or comments about my database or have suggestions on how I can improve it, feel free to write a comment here or on my database, or send me a note.

Oh, also, I hatched duckies!

The first two hatched about a month before the other three (one of which I forgot to take a picture of when she was little, which is why I included the picture of the three together). Since hatching, they have all grown considerably, and are all nearing adult size/weight. But I keep forgetting to take new pictures of them...

I have long found that I like to collect hobbies more than master the crafts in all cases. A project or two will stump me or bore me and I move on, sometimes coming back sometimes not. It seems like a logical part of art in some cases, but also a needed break. I am sure you will get back to the projects, but time away can help refine new skills that can be used in ways not yet understood.

Yeah. Life is quite funny in that way, when you turn around and realize that even the random things you did that at first seemed irrelevant ended up helping you reach your goals.
