Cats, Ocelots. Whatever you call them. I'm not sure which device you use Minecraft on but they've always been able to make Creepers flee. If you find and tame an ocelot you can leave it by your house and make it a fair percentage safer. Creepers are a law unto themselves in that there isn't a 'protector' (iron golems, tamed wolves etc) that will attack a Creeper because of how it can explode, yet the oneΒ thing that wouldn't attack ANYTHING is the one thing that forces a Creeper to withdraw.
