Sonic looks cool, tails reminds me of the pony. Mov version of spike, knuckles looks like he is trying to fight despite having a concussion, and shadow looks just plain awesome.Β

I think that when you get around to Sonic's finalized design, it should stay relatively the same. Tails and Knuckles' finalized ones capture the character's essence better.
And then there's shadow. First off, I love that you have him charging up his chaos spear attack. I've always thought that he should have a diverse move set from sonic, as his chaos attacks are more iconic to him (well, competing with riding a motorcycle with an uzi).
However, in my opinion he should look more like sonic. According to his backstory, he was created to be able to harness the power of the chaos energy, and was modeled after echidnian hieroglyphs depicting Super Sonic, which is why his spines point upwards. Sonic's do in his super form.
But the fedora is a nice touch, and this version would work with a different backstory.

For the life of me, Shadow in this redesignΒ reminds me of Alice Cooper in the way you drew it.

Holy crap, Shadow actually scares me in this but in that GOOD way. I think its the way his cheek bones are coming out and makes him look more (Beat) SHADOWY, like when you see this thing coming up to you in a dark corner, YOU ARE GONE.

hmm . . . shadow with a hat . . . to be honest i like the more angled he is in the design, but I think he should be sleeker, kinda badass. The design doesn't work well for me too much, but this is a beta design.

I thought he reminds me more of Alex Mercer from Prototype, which would fit since Shadow is similarly a powerful bio-weapon experiment that becomes like a neutral rogue trying to find out about his lost past.

Is your reimagining of Shadow supposed to be a gangster/hitman? That would be much more interesting than the official version. And would leave place for more character development than just the "2egy4you" route.

Thanks,Β I recall I was trying to emphasize the idea that the original design looked like he was wearing a suit. Though for the sake of keeping things closer to the source material if I get around to revisiting the design I would probably bat around the idea that he was created in a lab.

Sonic: Not bad. Not bad at all. 
Tails: Quite the opposite. I like the more finalized one way better. This one is like 'hey man, do want to smoke some dubbies?' Though, it is great satire,
Knuckles: What is it that I am looking at?
Shadow: Not a bad concept. I love the fedora and the more sinister noire look he has. Shadow's canon design isn't bad, but just seemed a bit uninspired. I say you could do some really cool things if you work with this.
