Description I finally made another one of these damn opponent beadsprites from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!

This is Mr. Sandman, which you could probably already tell from the picture, since I've added a spiffy little name at the bottom of the image this time around. The ironing turned out very well this time, unlike the last two boxers I made.

Hope you enjoy; I don't know when I'll get around to making another one of these, hopefully it won't be too long. I have a few 3-D Nintendo scenes to complete first, one of which will be rather epic.

Exellent job. You have a nack for this.
Y'know even to this day, I've still never been able to beat this guy in Punch-Out. lol

Thank you. Many people think that Mr. Sandman is tougher to beat than Super Macho Man, even though you face SMM after Sandman in the game, so you're definitely not alone.

Super Macho Man is the onley guy I never fought so far. (I admit, I've used the code to get to Mr. Dream, and he always kicks my butt lol. I don't have the original Mike Tyson version.) I always see animated GIFs on the internet though of Super Macho Man doing his creepy "pec flex" pose. lol

There are codes to get straight to SMM, if you still have a working cartridge and NES, or have the ROM of the game. This webpage has virtually every possible code for the game:

Yeah, that hypnotic pec jiggling of his was both funny and creepy as hell to me as a kid. Still is now, come to think of it.

Wow... looks great the ironing is crazy perfect... but what color did you use for his gloves? I'm sure the camera flash washed it out but it looks like something inbetween butterscotch and blush... Great job though, mega thumbs up... ^^

Danke.

After the last two, I was getting a little burned out on spending four hours beading just to be disappointed with the ironing. So it was great that I had one iron well for the first time in a while, because if Sandman's fusing ended up fubar'd, I likely would have retired from the "Punch-Out!! Perler Circuit" with a 3-3 record.

I used butterscotch for the gloves. The flash played some part in the gloves looking lighter, but it's also the contrast of the surrounding beads' color that's making the gloves look lighter. Even hanging on my wall, the gloves look more "cheddar" than "butterscotch" due to rust beads surrounding them.

Hmm... so it is butterscotch... it must be the wash out of the rust and flash...

Glad you ironed him well, I'd hate to see you retire early, or get KO'ed... or whatever...

and what do you mean 3-3... there's more than 6 characters, or were you insinuating that you've messed up on three of them?
