Description Blargg, the dinosaur with a fondness for lava baths. It has had several different designs throughout the years, but the original from Super Mario World still remains my favorite.

Oh, I remember the old style Blargg! I remember the newer one also, that looks more like a blob than an angry lava dragon, but I like your version a lot more. I like how you've designed the lava flowing down the body, and also the colouration reflecting off the face. Good animation!

By the way, Yoshi's Story's Gargantua Blargg has a design more similar to the old one. with googly crazy eyes and all.

More similar, maybe, but it's still a blob like the Yoshi's Island one, just with arms and a more detailed look overall.

Well, it's a Gargantua Blargg I believe, not a normal one... so when it pops out it has to really get in the way... I actually like that design, thought I admit I prefer the old SMW one

Another thing, before you think of how everything in SMW was different, specially the Goombas, let me tell you that they really aren't the Goombas we all know, they were named in Japan as "Kuribons" instead of Kuribos, meaning that they way probably are a different species or subspecies.

I know I know, I call them SMW Goombas myself, as seen in a couple deviations of mine.

Nah, that's not the new design, is just the Yoshi design. The normal design is the old one, and if Blargg would appear in anew Mario (no Yoshi) game, would have he old design. he was about to appear in SM64 with the old design but they cut it off.

I know, but I doubt the ol' Blargg will appear in a Mario game ever again. I mean, Blargg only looked like that in its first appearance and all later ones have used the Yoshi design. I'd go as far as to say that's the new design, since its the only one they've used for the last 17 years or so. SM64 doesn't count since it didn't appear in the final product.

I still strongly disagree, I'm sure they would use the old Blargg, since it's in the normal Mario style! The other is the Yoshi style, thought if a Blargg would appear in a Paper Mario game, it would be more like the Yoshi one, since Yoshi's Island games and Paper Mario share the same style.

But really, in a new 3D Mario platformer they would use the old Blargg... I mean, Nintendo even used several old designs for several enemies, like we would have never thought that they would re-use the old barefoot and four legged Koopa Troopas, but they totally appeared like that in Super Mario Galaxy.

Also, Yoshi's Island DS wasn't done by Nintendo, and Yoshi's Story is a Yoshi game, so Blarggs had to look similar, but the game also uses it's own style. And I think SM64 does count a bit, even if it was just in the beta.

So that's the old Blargg. It looks like a giant Yoshi head caught in lava. XD No wonder they changed the design.

Oh, and also, I added those three scales to the back of its head to actually make it look more like Yoshi. The real SMW design didn't have those.

What, you never played Super Mario World? Woah there.

A lava dinosaur-dragon thing is miles more creative than a single-coloured blob with eyes and a mouth in my book.

Nope. And true too. But it really looks more like a lava colored Yoshi in my eyes. XD

The three scales I added on the backside of its head make it look more like Yoshi, and on purpose. The original looks vastly different from a Yoshi.

I think I remember these guys. He looks like he's floating in lava! That new one is um...yeah. Looks like something in a Yoshi game.

Its body is covered in a sheet of runny magma which explains the look.

Agreed, the old Blargg fits in better with the rest of the Mario enemies in my opinion. The newer design fits in more with Yoshi enemies, and seems to have camped up there for good.
