Description
Concept art for Tales of Soleanna, my fanfic. [link]The super hedgies and Elise face down Solaris, who isn't that bad of a god, really. It's a good thing Elise is so devout.
Made in Painter.

The game sucked. And yet the soundtrack was awesome.

Could this be a reminder of the Madness of Deathwing, or could this be a little different from it?

Solaris's goal isn't just to destroy time but to overthrow God himself.

Unless he is a god himself. Elise sure seems to think so.

Solaris. It goes without saying that he is the most powerful being i the series as evident by the fact that it took 3 super transformed hedgehogs to defeat him since he exists in the past, present, and future simultaneously and thus had to be defeated in all three time periods simultaneously. And even then they could not truly destroy him. He is also the most dangerous and the biggest threat because he wanted to completely destroy time. I would also like to add that I think sonic the hedgehog 2006 is highly underrated.

Solaris had to be perhaps the second-most awesome True Last Boss of Sonic ever (Dark Oak being the best of all though), and is one of the reasons why I didn't find Sonic 2006 to be so bad.
Solaris was one that was just totally awesome, and unlike most Sonic True Last Bosses (except for Dark Oak and Dark Gaia), he gave those vibes like all other hope is lost. Solaris had both humanity and the very fabric of time and existence itself on the brink, and had gotten Sonic, Silver, and Shadow over a barrel like Bane had Batman over his knee. And Dear God does the boss fight deliver on that, the only one who did even better being Final Dark Oak. I've rarely felt that way about a True Last Boss Battle, except for ones such as Duo.EXE in Megaman NT Warrior, Andromeda in Megaman Starforce, The Stone-Like in Radiant Silvergun, Con-Human in Rayforce, and Giygas in Earthbound. Solaris definitely ranks among those types of Truly Hopeless-Feeling and epic True Last Bosses.

Re: Solaris: Yes! I loved Sonic 360's story. It was more Final Fantasy than Sonic, IMO. It's just that the gameplay was lacking and rushed. Which is a shame, because it had the potential to be the greatest game of them all. I love how Solaris is this angel-thing, yet somehow Mephiles is part of him.

It's nothing like Final Fantasy.

I know, but I like Final Fantasy too, which is what made me like it more. I think the Angel thing sort of relates to the Demon like appearance of Mephiles, as for Solaris is like a God who has become evil and vengeful, almost like a Fallen Angel (which is what the Devil himself was once).

Have you ever noticed that Solaris looks very similar to Tabuu from Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl?
Unintentional or something more devious?
Check it out:

Solaris also bears some similarity to the Crest of Hyrule in Legend Of Zelda.

It's from a long story arc in my fanfics [link] involving Shadow's near-death and resurrection by Metal Sonic as a half-robot (in a story called The Slave and the Darkness). More recently, Shads can only go super if his phoenix-chao Nox does this fusion-thing with him (The Eye of Doom).
Here's another pic of Shadow and Nox flying together. [link]

I liked how Solaris actually had a decent reason to destroy the universe, and was actually really nice.
I LOVE IT.

This is really so awesome! I've always loved how unique your ideas are, and I certainly love unique adaptations of Sonic 06. You've done this picture really well, and I love the obscure inclusion of Elise. And Mekion is badass as always. Very nice work!
