Description This was an attempt to adapt this inscription into a living creature.

This is a Mesopotamian seal from the Louvre depicting what looks like sauropods. I'm not sure exactly what kind--possibly prosauropods, owing to the slimness of the bodies. Larger varieties, like camarasaurus, have the low-slung pelvis.

I also thought the shape of the heads was interesting, due to this article about how dinosaurs may have had large fleshy noses--after all, so do we. [link]

Also I experimented with making leaf brushes for the background. Lots of fun!

Made in Painter.

Dude, ever heard of something called the serpopard? It's a mythical creature that looks almost exactly like the creatures on the seal.

Of course, it's hardly surprising that a YEC would fail to do any research.

This is so cool! I've never seen the animals from the seal illustrated before, and you did a great job!!

... and you'd think those Mesopotamians would have had to be ALIVE in order to make art of this supposedly prehistoric creature (with their fleshy noses and ears).

Well, according to Josephus, Nebachadnezzar had a chariot pulled by dragons. He used it for his triumphant entrance into a captured city, to wow the natives. He'd apparently domesticated dragons (of the long-necked variety) and they were kept in the court. If you google "Babylonian dragon", you can see the frescos. It's really interesting.

They have ears and puggy noses, how cute!

I bet some species were a lot prettier/cuter than they like to paint based on the bones alone. I mean, just look how naked and ugly a cat skeleton looks vs. the live thing.

I know, that's what I always think of. Or the skeleton of a dog. They look more or less the same, but their variety and personality comes out in their muscles and coats.

I'm intrigued by accounts of weirdness, too. Like, apparently, that one sauropod down in the Congo, Mokele-mbembe, has an inflatable throat sac like a bullfrog, which it uses for its vocalizations. (It's also very territorial, attacks and upsets canoes, and uses its call to mark its territory. Being a plant eater doesn't make it gentle!)

Well yeah, remember bulls? Being a herbivore doesn't stop them from goring you 0_o

I ... I want to see that.... (I also heard they HATE hippos with a raw passion).

First the parasaurolophus has ears like horses, now sauropods!? Why did you do that! Dinosaurs are just like birds!!!

Only theropods. They've found fossil imprints of duckbill skin, and it's pebbly, like a basketball. Sauropods tend to have spikes on their backs, like reptiles, and no feathers.

Oh, just wondering how these dinosaurs are. Is it possible all dinosaurs include both sauropods and/or ornithopods have ears like mammals have?

I don't know. I was going by that inscription in my description, and I couldn't figure out what the things on the backs of their heads were. I finally went with ears, but it could be spikes or a crest.

I just like to add spikes from it's head to tail, just like iguana have.

When I saw the title, I immediate thought it was an image of a T-rex flexing his steroid-pumped forearms. "YEEEEEEEEEAHHHHHHH!!"

Did they really have "ears" like that? That's pretty interesting.

That is so different from what people NORMALLY think of when they think of dinos, but it is so awesome, I can't help but love it. XD

Wow, that was fast. XD I remember were just talking about this the other day. And that article = win. Confirms my ideas (or makes them plausible at least).
