Lizzie groaned as she came to. She rubbed her face, trying to remember everything that had happened the night before. The pain threatening to split her skull wasn’t helping. The world shook suddenly and she had brace herself up against what she hoped was a wall. It felt like a wall.

“The Midwest doesn’t have earthquakes,” she muttered, remembering the seimso-critters her mom had gotten as a gag gift. There was a scraping sound before light flooded the room she was in. Her eyes squinted shut and she held her hand up, blocking the light partially. She couldn’t make much out even after her eyes adjusted, only really able to see clearly about six inches from her nose. What she did see, though, sent chills down her spine. Whatever it was was huge... and focused entirely on her.

Jonathan took a deep breath, slowly opening up the box that held....well....a human. As far as he knew.....and that mere fact alone made him nervous to no end. He glanced inside, having to lean over a bit due to him sitting on his couch and the box being set upon the living room table. What had he gotten himself into? Why did he do this.......he didn’t even quite know himself..... She was looking right at him too, though, he wasn’t sure if she could see very well....because he was sure if she could he would get a lot more of a response. What was he supposed to say? ‘Hello, I found you being illegally sold on the street. And I thought I should take you before you got into the wrong hands.’ No....he couldn’t say that......Because even though that was true, who would want to hear that? “U-um........hello.....” He says finally, in the softest tone he could muster. “Are y-you......alright?”

Lizzie’s eyes went wide as the whatever-it-was spoke. She cringed against the wall, hoping this was all just a bad dream. Her heart was beating an erratic rhythm against her rib cage as she slid to the floor. Where the heck was she? Gathering her courage, she squinted, hoping it would help her focus. The large tan blob the hovered over her looked kinda like a face... a giant face.... The more she looked, the more the realization sunk in. There was a giant looking at her and she was stuck. With a nervous gulp, she started to open her mouth.  “I-I’m not re-really sure?” she managed to squeak, voice wavering like she was about to cry. In all honesty, she almost wanted to. Her eyes found the darker, bluish blobs where the face’s eyes should be. It almost helped that she was looking at a giant; smaller details were now magnified.

Although he was expecting her to react in such a way, he still felt pretty bad.......she was terrified....and he was the cause.... Her heart beat could be heard as clear as day, and the scent of fear was quite strong..... He frowned at the sight of her sliding down to the floor, and furrowed his eyebrows together in concern when he heard the state of her voice. It sounded like she was about to let out the waterworks.... Which only made him feel worse and back up a bit from the box to try a look less.....large. “O-oh....I-I’m sorry.....if I’m s-scaring you....” He apologized, biting his lip a little. “I w-won’t hurt you....d-don’t worry.....” He was stuttering himself as well, because at the moment he was very wary of his movements and actions. She was so small.....about two inches to be exact, he had to be careful. “D-do you.....want o-out of there? M-maybe.....?” Would she really like to leave the box so quickly? She’d have to sooner or later.....but he didn’t want to force or rush her, which was why he asked instead of just scooping her out. “Y-you d-don’t have to.....i-if you don’t w-want to that is.....”

Lizzie’s eyes went wide at his offer. How would that work exactly? She shivered slightly and hugged herself. Her lower lip quivered, and she bit it. Tears started slipping down her face. She quickly swiped them away, not really wanting the giant to see her cry. The young teen hoped that if she pretended to be strong, nothing bad would happen. She tore her eyes away from him and tried to make out any details she could about the room she was in. With a sigh, she pushed herself up and looked back up at the giant. Still biting her lip, she nodded slightly. “I-It’d be nice,” she said, voice still quivering. “J-just ... I-I’m s-sorry.” She squeezed her eyes shut and wrung her hands. “I j-just want to go home!” she whimpered.

“Oh n-no please.....d-don’t cry......” Was he doing that? Was he making the poor girl cry? He wasn’t really sure but the sudden urge to comfort her was beginning to form....and he knew that pretty soon he wouldn’t be able to resist it. He saw her look around, which only made sense to do when in a place you’ve never seen before. It surprised him to hear her actually agree to being taken out. He was about to just tell her to lean against the wall so he could tip it over, so that way they wouldn’t be making any type of contact. But he paused when she apologized, what was she saying sorry for? This wasn’t her fault...... Hearing her whimper just put the icing on the cake...he had to do something....he couldn’t take it anymore, he really didn’t like seeing people upset. At first he was unsure of he should touch her.....for fear of her freaking out even more. But he went for it anyway, slowly reaching his hand down into the box and carefully cupping her little form into the center on his palm. “Don’t be sorry.....” He murmured, bringing his other hand under the one she was being held in. She was brought up to his chest, where he tried his best to give her a ‘hug’ of sorts. “You didn’t ask for this to happen......I’m sorry.......”

Lizzie did her best not to flinch as another flesh-colored object approached her. It’s his hand, she told herself. Just his hand. Her breath hitched and she whimpered a little as it scooped around her. The teen hugged herself as she was lifted out of the “room.” She squeezed her eyes shut when he brought her closer, tears leaking out. This was too much! She was in a giant hand! Her body started shaking uncontrollably. This could not be happening! Giants didn’t exist... and if they did... She shook worse, remembering stories like Jack and the Beanstalk. She heard him speak and cautiously opened one eye. The other popped open a second later. What was she looking at? She reached out a shaking hand toward what looked like an oddly colored wall. It felt like cloth... and it was warm. His apology hit her then, making her stop and think. Maybe... maybe he wasn’t as scary as she thought. She pressed her forehead to his shirt... Or at least she hoped it was. “Wh-why am I h-here?” she asked, trying to get control of herself again.

Jonathan ended up closing his eyes as well when he finished talking, expecting her to thrash and scream. But that never came......and instead he could feel something ever so lightly touch the surface of his T-shirt. Which made him slowly open them back up and look down, only to smile softly in adoration at the sight before him. She was feeling around her surroundings ......and at the moment that happened to be him......but it was understandable. Although he still blushed a little when she put her forehead on his chest. The next question was something he truly dreaded having to answer..... How do you tell someone they were kidnapped, taken to some other world filled with giants, and sold as a pet? “U-umm......” He gulped nervously, and his heartbeat picked up. “Y-you....were.....b-being.....sold on the street.....and I took you because.........I......I couldn’t stand the thought of you being sold to someone who would treat you badly......” He carefully pulled her away from his chest, bringing her up to his face. “But I want you to know that I don’t see you as an object, or a pet. I see you as a person, and promise to treat you as one.”

Lizzie bit her lip and hugged herself as she listened to him explain. A few fresh tears slid down her face. Sold on the street? Someone had stolen her to make money off her? Wasn’t there some law or something against human trafficking? Lizzie burrowed her face against his shirt, only to be pulled away suddenly. She backed up as she was brought closer to his face, eyes wide. Part of her wanted to squint to see him a little clearer, while another was fine with him being blurry. Taking a shaky breath, Lizzie nodded slightly after his assurance. She was a person, so it was nice to know she would be treated like one... even if he could probably do whatever he wanted to her and get away with it. She closed her eyes, biting her lip harder and counting to ten. It was something she knew usually calmed her down... except this wasn’t the type of thing she was usually stressing out about... She was sitting in a giant’s hand, for Pete’s sake. The girl did her best to not start crying again. Slowly, she opened her eyes back up, looking him in the eye... or trying to. “Th-thanks,” she said, finally managing to stop her voice from wavering too much. She wrung her fingers, trying to come up with a nice-so-the-giant-doesn’t-squash-her way of asking if she could go home, but everything she came up with sounded at least a little insulting. With another shaky sigh, she gave it her best shot. “Am I... can I ever... go home?”

Jonathan winced a little when she backed away, he was probably too close now...... Sensing that she was probably a little uncomfortable, he sighed softly, and lowered her down to his chest again. “You’re......welcome...” He felt weird for her thanking him just because he said was going to treat her equally.....it shouldn’t be something that was rare..... As if it couldn’t get any worse.....he had to answer yet another horrid question.... “G-go home?” He repeated. “T-there........There are portals that lead back to Earth......but only my kind can travel through them back and forth safely......if a human were to go through it more than once.......they would either become very ill......o-or.....in m-most cases.....” He couldn’t finish his sentence.....he was sure she would be able to fill in the blanks..... Oh how he wished he could help her get back......he hated how his kind treated hers.......it made him sick to his stomach. “Can you......see well? You look like you’re having a bit of trouble.....”Although the question was off topic......he couldn’t help but ask it. He could tell she was having some issues......

She tensed as he lowered her again, but managed to keep her eyes on his face. His voice... it almost sounded like she was torturing him with these questions, like it hurt to answer. When he mentioned the portals, she couldn’t help lighting up... until he got to the fact that she would most likely.... She shook her head slowly, unconsciously curling up. This time she didn’t cry, though; she just buried her face in her arms and shook. Her breath hitched a few times before his next question came. Her head jerked up to look at him again. “N-not really,” she answered. “Everything’s b-blurry without my... glasses. I can usually get around s-someplace I know and tell what th-things are...” ‘Except here,’ she added to herself. Everything was too big here. While that helped her see them, she was having a bit of difficulty deciphering what they actually were.

He listened to her explain about her current eyesight, furrowing his eyebrows a little. He was going to have to get her some glasses......which meant he’d have to know what her prescription was.....and they would probably have to go to an eye doctor for that....unless she knew what it was from the top of her head. “W-well I could......I could get you some new glasses....i-if you’d like....” He replied slowly, and looked down at her with a half-sided smile. “What....what happened to them? Did you drop then somewhere.......?” Maybe they were still in the box? Jonathan leaned over a bit to take a look inside the box again. After he scanned every inch for a few seconds he frowned to not find them, and slid himself back onto the couch, slumping slightly. “They’re certainly not in the box......” He muttered, letting out a soft sigh and putting his focus back on her. “Hmm....” He hummed thoughtfully, and made a mental note that she would need glasses as soon as possible. Did she need anything else though? “A-are you hungry or anything?” She was probably too scared or shocked by the whole situation to want to eat anything. In fact, she most likely just wanted to rest or something......although, he didn’t want to just assume that.

Lizzie scrunched up her face and squinted at him, cocking her head to one side. She didn’t really believe someone as big as him could get her glasses. Catching a glimpse of his small smile, she attempted to smile back.... but it came out more of a grimace. “I... I don’t know how I lost them,” she squeaked out just before he leaned over. She yelped as he moved around her, suddenly wondering if she even wanted to see this world clearly. His mutter rumbled around her as he leaned back, his sigh ruffling the strands that come loose from her ponytail. The teen looked back toward the giant’s face. At least, he wasn’t trying to scare her. Lizzie took a few deep breaths through her nose, trying to calm down some more. “I-I could probably eat... or may-maybe some water?” she replied softly.

He cringed when she yelped, giving an apologetic look. “S-sorry.....” He said sheepishly, frowning a bit when she said she didn’t know how she lost her glasses. “O-oh.....well that’s alright....I’ll just get a special pair for you.” He assured. At hearing she could have something to eat, he smiled softly, nodding at her request. “Sure, whatever you’d like.” He raised his hand a little higher before smoothly picking himself up from off the couch. Then something hit him.....they didn’t even know each other’s names! “Oh my gosh....I never told you my name.....” He thought aloud, flushing slightly in embarrassment. “F-forgive me....my name is Jonathan......might I....know yours?” He wasn’t going to get mad if she didn’t want to give that out just yet, in fact he was kind of expecting it. After all, they had only just met....... As he waited for an answer he slowly made his way to the kitchen. His steps were soft, and careful, and he did this on purpose so as to not jolt her around in his hold too much. His fingers a curled a little so she had a bit of railing, that way, she wouldn’t be able to fall off if she ever decided to stand up. Though he highly doubted she would want to do something like that anytime soon....

She squeezed her eyes shut as he moved her again, trying to keep her breaths even. Why am I freaking out? she berated herself. I love carnival rides like this. Except this wasn’t a carnival ride... and there was no getting off, not really. She was stuck here, with a giant. Focusing on her breathing helped.... then he talked again and she was reminded of her situation. She slowly opened her eyes. Jonathan was a pretty normal-sounding name... for a giant. She looked up at him. Should she tell him her name? Would he be mad if she didn’t? Lizzie wrung her hands as he started walking. While she swayed a bit with the motion, it wasn’t as bad as she expected. His hand twitched under her slightly and she saw his fingers curl... well, as much as she could see. Her arms relaxed slightly and her fingers brushed his palm. That wasn’t what she was expecting to feel. With this revelation came curiosity. She pressed her hands into his palm, feeling the little ridges and wrinkles that she could just barely see. This... could work. “I... I’m Lizzie,” she answered slowly, still feeling around on his hand.

A slight sensation could be felt on his palm......which automatically caused him to look down. The sight made him tilt his head to the side a little and blush...... She may have been the little one, but he was the one who felt like he was under close inspection. He was so dazed by how interested she seemed to be in his hand that he just barely stopped himself from bumping into the kitchen counter. “Whoops....that was close....” He walked AROUND it, and finally responded to her telling him her name. “Lizzie.....” He tested it out, smiling soon after. He liked that name for some reason. “It’s nice to meet you, Lizzie.” He was going to have to set her down if he was going to fix her something....but he was a little worried about doing since her eyesight wasn’t very good at the moment...... “I-I’m......going to have to set you down on the counter....s-so I can get you something.....is that alright?”

Lizzie yelped slightly as he swerved around the obstacle. Her eyes found his face again. He was looking at her instead of where he was going. That... was either really cute or really disturbing. She returned his smile with a shy one of her own. His next statement caught her slightly off guard. She moved closer to his fingers in an attempt to see the counter. There was enough color difference that she was sure she’d be fine. “Y-yeah,” she said, scooting back to his palm. “I should be able to get around.” So long as things weren’t the exact same color with only tiny details of difference, she should be able to tell them apart... And with how big everything was here, those tiny details were magnified, hopefully enough that she could see them in time.

Jonathan froze a bit when she moved closer to the edge, though soon relaxed as she went back to her original position. He complied with her answer, and slowly lowered his hand down to the counter so she could walk off by herself. The hand flattened once it made contact with the grey and black marble surface. “S-so you wanted something to eat t-too right? O-or did you just want water?” he wanted to make sure, since when he asked the first time it sounded like she just wanted to have some water. “I-I’m not hungry right now myself....b-but I could make you something i-if you really wanted....” It felt a little strange to be making things for someone other than himself....he was used to living alone. But by no means did he not enjoy the company, it was very pleasant and refreshing to have someone to talk to. Even given the circumstances.

Lizzie crawled to the edge of his hand and looking at the counter top. She bit her lip and tested the surface with one foot before putting the other down as well. It was perfectly solid. The color differences must just be the pattern. She turned to look up at his now-blurrier face. It was a fact of her life that the farther she was from something the blurrier it was. “Just... just water for now, I think, Jonathan,” she replied, trying out his name. It fit him all right. She cocked her head to one side, wondering if she was making him nervous somehow.... He kept stuttering. She backed away slightly, wanting to know how much of him she could see at a time. Lizzie didn’t know if she wanted to get used to this or not, but either way, she supposed she’d have to.

Once he was sure she was off properly, he removed his hand from the table. There was a sudden chill that went up his spine when she said his name, and he paused for a moment, seeming to be looking into space. He was like this for a good few seconds, until he finally snapped out of it and nodded response. “O-oh yes of course! Sorry about that....” He had to think of what she could use.....a thimble maybe? He had one from all the sewing he did..... “I’ll be right back okay? I’ll get s-something for you to drink out of....” He headed toward the exit to the kitchen, glancing back at her one more time before walking out of sight. His room was down a hall that was connected to the living room, and as he walked through the halls he soon entered his room. He then began the search for his sewing supplies, because for some reason he never kept them in one spot....

Lizzie watched him move away from her, still trying to adjust to the scale. She cocked her head to one side as he paused, eyes squinting. When he finally snapped out of it, she couldn’t help taking a step back. He moved so fast sometimes. She nodded when he said he would be right back. As he left the room, she started looking around the counter top. Somehow, she would have to get used to this scale... Again, she was almost happy she didn’t have her glasses. With her vision what it was, everything already looked alien. Now that the giant -  Jonathan -  was out of the room, she felt a little braver and started wandering around the counter. The teen made sure to stay away from the edge, not really wanting to see how high up she was. She pressed her hands against the wall. With a sigh, she turned and leaned against it, slumping to a sitting position. Wrapping her arms around her knees, she couldn’t help wondering why whoever had taken her had chosen her... and why Jonathan was helping her out. If humans were little more than pets, why did he care so much? Thinking about it made her head hurt, so she buried it in her arms and waited for him to come back.

It took a few minutes....but he was finally able to find what he was looking for. He sighed in relief, happy to have found it so quickly and not have Lizzie waiting for too long. As he walked back down the hallway and re-entered the kitchen it didn’t take long for his eyes to settle on her all form curled up and leaning against the wall. He walked over slowly, cocking his head to one side as he looked down at her. “Lizzie?” He asked softly, a hint of concern in his voice from seeing her in such a position. He crouched down in front of the counter, knitting his eyebrows together slightly. They were a lot more eye level now, and he was able to take in all her little features better. Well.....at least from what he could see.... since her face was covered at the moment. He didn’t say anything, he just placed the thimble on the counter, and looked at her hopefully, waiting for her to look up. He hoped she wouldn’t mind having to drink out of it too much.....he would have to do a lot of shopping tomorrow.....

Lizzie shifted slightly when he said her name. One question kept churning through her mind: Why? She peeked over her arms as he set something down near her. It... looked like a bucket without a handle. The teen ran a hand over her face and looked up at Jonathan. He was trying... that’s what counted right? Slowly, the girl got to her feet and walked closer to him. If this was normal now, she’d have to get used to him being so... big. “I’m okay,” she said, hiding her face so he wouldn’t see her fear... and worry. She knew there was no way for her to survive on her own here. She’d have to rely on him... for pretty much everything. Steeling herself, she looked back up and tried to smile, even though she was sure it looked more like a grimace than anything. “I just... have to get used to... well, this,” she added, motioning to herself, then him.

Jonathan may not have been able to see the fear on her face....but that didn’t mean his senses didn’t pick it up.... He averted his gaze when she looked up at him. She said she was okay, but he could tell otherwise......eventually, he did look at her again. Only to be met with her attempt at what he guessed was her trying to give a smile.....she was closer though, which surprised him. “I know......me too.” He replies, giving a little smile of his own before taking the thimble and going to slowly standing back up. He went over to the sink to rinse it out. Then walked over to the refrigerator to fetch the water, since he wouldn’t dream of having her drink from the tap..... He had to do it perfectly......fortunately, he had a steady hand, so it wasn’t too hard......he just tipped the bottle of water ever so slightly, just one drop. “There, here y-you go....” He carefully set it down near her, and stepped back a bit to give her some space.

What little courage she had managed to muster vanished as he reached for the thimble. She clamped her eyes shut, but managed not to fall down or shy away. Her ears picked up the sounds of Jonathan moving around, a facet running, and a door opening and closing. Trying to focus on her breathing, Lizzie calmed herself in time for Jonathan to give her some water. Her eyes opened and she knelt by the “bucket,” gripping the sides. “Th-thank you,” she said quietly before lifting it and taking a careful drink. As she set it back down, her hands slid down the edges. Dimples? Her eyebrows lowered curiously, hands exploring what her eyes couldn’t make out. It felt like the bottom three quarters or so was covered in dimples and the top quarter was smooth. What in the world? She looked up at Jonathan; then back at what she had just drank from. Was this... a thimble? Why would he have a thimble? “Th-this might be a weird question,” Lizzie began, standing up and looking up at him, “but do you sew?”

“You’re welcome.” He said just as quietly, putting the bottle away as she starts to drink. When his attention falls back to her, he noticed how she seemed to be examining her makeshift ‘cup’ and he knew what was going to come next......it was only a matter of time. And soon enough, the question was asked. “U-ummm....well...” He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “P-perhaps.....m-maybe....just a little.....” That was an understatement.......it was pretty much his hobby. “M-more than a little.....actually.....” He added in, taking a seat in one of the chairs. “It’s okay, t-that wasn’t a w-weird question at all.” To him, what was weird was that he sewed.....not the question.... “I-I started to make things like scarves and hats.....but I didn’t want them to pile up so I j-just...donate them afterwords....” He explained, feeling a little weird to admit that he does such a thing. He’d never actually told anyone before.....because he thought it was silly. In fact he didn’t sew he knitted too, but already thought saying that he sewed was enough.....

Lizzie watched as he started looking uncomfortable. Even if she couldn’t make out the small details, the details she needed were magnified here. As he explained, she started seeing him in a new light. He was a person... if a giant one. It obviously embarrassed him that he sewed, but to her, it seemed cool. “That’s pr-pretty cool,” she told him after he was done. “Especially that you donate them.” She took another drink and looked back at him. “I wish I could sew... or do something useful like that.” Her hands clenched into fists. In this world, she probably couldn’t do anything useful anyway... The teen bit her lip and lowered her head, trying not to let her insecurities show. She managed to muster a smile and look back up at Jonathan.

He froze at her words, having a look of surprise on his face. She actually thought that was.....cool? Huh? “Y-you do?” He asks in disbelief. “T-thank......you...” Her next words however made him frown, he wanted to help her feel better.....but he didn’t how.... And it annoyed him to no end. He just couldn’t be happy if she wasn’t too, that simply wouldn’t do.... He returned the smile she gave, though inside he was feeling guilty. Research would have to be made to see if there was any possible way for a human to go through a portal more than once and be unaffected. It seemed clear to him she was unhappy here.....so he would try to the best of his ability to get her back home. Of course, he wouldn’t mention it unless he was absolutely sure there was a safe way back. “I’m sorry you have to stay here......with me and everything......” He finally says, fiddling with his thumbs and looking down at the ground. He may have kept saying sorry, but he was....... And every time he saw how sad and scared she looked it reminded him that she didn’t choose to be here.....she had a life, and it was taken away from her. And she was forced to accept this new, most likely highly overwhelming world...... He just.....couldn’t stop feeling bad for her.

His apologies struck a chord within her. Here he was being nice to her and all she was doing was being scared. Okay, so being scared may not have been irrational, but somehow she felt that her mood was affecting his. “It’s not you!” she insisted, maybe a little too harshly. “I mean... you weren’t the one who... y’know... I just....” Lizzie groaned. Why was it that she could never find the right words when she wanted them? Lizzie looked up at him, absently wishing there was a better way to go about this. Taking another big drink, she stood, keeping her eyes on him. “You’re an amazing person, Jonathan,” she said soothingly, trying to calm her own nerves as well. “It’s just a bit of an adjustment.” Okay, that was an understatement, but it made all of this easier to handle for right now. With a deep breath, she took a step towards him. If this was her norm now, being around him couldn’t scare her, thinking of being near him couldn’t make her want to cry. ‘He’s a person, just bigger,’ she repeated to herself with each small step. “You might... you might actually be the best thing to happen to me,” she told him when she felt she was close enough. Yeah, this was good for her. No more wallflower habits here, that was for sure....

His eyes widened at her sudden outburst, and he leaned back into his seat. Though he looked a little confused when she tried to get her words out, watching her take another drink before standing up and looking straight at him. He shifted a little under her gaze, and closed his eyes, expecting her to raise her voice again..... But that never came......instead, her tone was soft, and her words.....he couldn’t even believe when he had just heard..... His ears picked up movement....which made him slowly open his eyes again, only to her a lot closer then she was before. What was she doing? She was so close...and of her own accord at that! He slumped a little, his face was turning extremely red from all this.......he didn’t even know how to respond from her saying such things..... “I........I...am? B-but.....how?” He was still rather speechless.....she couldn’t have meant that.....right?

Lizze bit her lip at his reaction to her outburst. “Yes, you are,” she said softly but firmly. She didn’t know how to explain it, but it felt good to know someone knew she was there. “I could have wound up with anyone who would have done anything they pleased.... but, you saved me from that.” She ducked her head and fiddled with her fingers. He still could do anything he wanted, but she hoped he would stay true to his word. She stared at her hands, wondering what she was doing. Her mind, her body, everything was screaming at her to be afraid. Could she really keep masking that? It honestly amazed her that she was masking it this well, right now. There were still moments when he surprised her and her instincts took over, but mostly.... The teen did her best not to slump down as it all truly sunk in. She was stuck here, in a land of giants.... forever. She looked back at Jonathan. What she needed right now was a hug... or something. “Pick me up,” she said, voice cracking. Maybe not as good at masking her feelings as she wanted. “Please?”

Oh how happy those words made him feel.....to know he actually, personally, helped someone.....he still felt bad that she had to be here though..... He wished they met some other way.....where she could go home, and live a normal, independent life... Ugh he needed to stop thinking like that....it only made him feel worse. However he kept thinking about it.....that is, until Lizzie got him out of it when she asked to be picked up. He was about to ask if she was sure, but decided to hold his tongue and simply comply to what she requested, she looked like she needed it anyway.... He moved forward a bit, bringing his hands up and slowly scooped her into his cupped palms. They carefully brought her to his chest in a cradling-like fashion. “I-is this.....alright?” He asked, never taking his attention off of her. It surprised him every time he would pick her up, because until today, he had never interacted with a human before.....mostly because he didn’t like to be seen in any those horrible shops. But yet he still knew how to treat her gently......it puzzled him greatly.

Lizzie allowed her knees to give out the second he picked her up. She wouldn’t let herself break down in his hand... well not cry at least. She did, however, curl into the curve of his hands. As weird as this was, it also felt good to be held. She looked at his fingers, squinting slightly. Each one was longer than she was. Her breathing picked up as he moved her closer to himself, hands clenching slightly. She was absolutely tiny to him. It’d be so easy for him to just ignore her. His voice rumbled around her and she was aware of a soft, rhythmic pounding behind her. She turned, once again facing the wall of fabric that was his chest. The teen lurched to her feet, staggering across his palm. It was the strangest thing she had ever walked across, almost like a soft mattress that moved on its own. She finally made it to his chest after almost falling a few times. She leaned against him, grabbing fistfuls of shirt. “Yes,” she whispered. Deep down, she realized that she was drawing comfort from something she should fear, but she didn’t care. All she cared about was that he was warm and willing to care.

Jonathan watched her curiously as she got walked across his hand. His fingers curled slightly when she almost fell multiple times, wanting to make sure she didn’t tumble. A look of adoration couldn’t help but form on his face when she leaned against him, feeling her little hands take hold of the fabric of his shirt. It was strange for him too....to have such a small being in the palm of his hand, he felt a urge to protect and comfort her, it was unexplainable. “Good, I’m glad.” He cooed, cupping his hands around her a bit more in a gentle embrace for a couple of seconds before releasing. He wondered what time it was.....it felt kind of late...but he wasn’t sure by how much.....he raised his head to try and look for a clock. Unfortunately, he wasn’t around one at the moment, and he didn’t want to disturb her by getting up to find one.

Lizzie’s eyes slid closed as his voice rumbled around her. He cupped her close and her grip tightened. Maybe... maybe she could get used to this. It was a hug, but more. He could fully encompass her with just his hands. She snuggled into his chest just before he loosened his grip. Her blue eyes darted upwards as he moved slightly. She could feel most of his movements, even the ones she was sure he was unaware of. Her vision got blurrier as she looked at him, so she buried her face in his shirt again. ‘He’s not going to hurt me,’ she repeated to herself. ‘He’s a good person.’ Her eyelids fluttered slightly. What a day.... With a sigh that turned into a yawn, she slipped to her knees in his hands. He was so warm and comfy.

A slight chuckle escaped him when she buried her face in his shirt once more, it was a funny feeling. He would have to get used to her doing such things. He was about to ask if she was getting sleepy, but he was beat to it when she let out a yawn. He smiled softly at the sight, having a feeling he’d soon have to find a place for her to sleep... “Are you tired Lizzie?” He asked quietly, already knowing what the answer will be. Carefully, he slid out of his chair, making sure to keep his hands steady as he stood up. Come to think of it.....he was getting a bit drowsy himself....it must have been around the time he got ready to go to bed. “I’m getting a little sleepy to actually.....” He kept his tone low since it seemed she was already giving in to sleep a bit. He wondered where she would be able to rest......he didn’t want to out her just anywhere.....and he wanted to make that where she would be, she was comfortable and warm.

She gave another little yawn and let her eyelids flutter as he moved, not even trying to brace herself. She swayed a little when he was standing. “Yeah, sleep sounds good,” she said. She crawled to the center of his palm again. It must have been all the excitement since getting here that tired her out. The teen was already tired of fighting to stay awake, so she just curled up in his palm, using her arms as a pillow. He was so warm... A small smile spread across her face as she slipped to sleep.

He only started to walk when she confirmed on being tired, he just wanted to make sure. “Okay then, I’ll find.....” He trailed off when she went to the center of his palm, he was surprised she trusted him enough to simply just fall asleep right in his hand like that. His hand slowly rose up to his face so he could examine her better. She was asleep alright....and if he looked close enough he could the slightest smile across her face. “Goodnight.” He murmured softly, bringing her back down to his chest again as he headed into his room. Now was the tricky part.....where was she going to sleep? He didn’t have anything set up......he glanced over at his bed, or more specifically one of the pillows on it. His bed was big enough so she could have her own side......and he never moved in his sleep....so maybe she could sleep on his pillow? He walked over to it, and looked down at Lizzie’s sleeping form. “I hope you won’t mind sleeping here....” He lowered his hands and tilted them slowly, having her carefully slide off and onto the plushy surface below. There was one last thing he wanted to do though, she would need a blanket right? He could quickly knit one for her, since she was small it wouldn’t take very long at all. So that’s exactly what he did, it took a few minutes.....but he was able to make a nice little blanket for her, which he gingerly placed upon her afterwards. “There, perfect.” And now that she was taken care of, he could get ready for bed himself.

Lizzie rolled over slightly in her sleep as he started walking, murmuring a little “good night” in her sleep. She mumbled a few other things before she was gently set on the pillow. She became partially aware when she was placed on the pillow, watching a large, shadowy figure move around. But it wasn’t frightening. Her eyes slid shut again, and she started dreaming about giant fluffy clouds. As soon as the blanket was placed over her, she murmured “thank you” and clutched it tight.

Before he could walk away, hearing her voice say ‘thank you’ made him pause. “You’re very welcome......Lizzie.” He replied, happy to see her like the little blanket. He had to leave before the desire to scoop her up and cuddle her got too strong......”I’ll be back okay? I have to get ready for bed too.” He wasn’t sure if she heard him, bit he thought she should tell her anyway just in case she wondered where he was heading off to. Once he said that he went to do his nightly routine, which didn’t take too long....about 30 minutes. After he was done with all that he was pretty much ready to collapse......his pajamas and or sleepwear always consisted of some type of blue t-shirt and grey sweat pants. Jonathan stifled a yawn with his hand as he walked on the other side of the bed, though he did sleepily glance over at Lizzie to make sure she was alright. Even though sleep was beginning to take over he still made sure he didn’t just plop into bed, instead he carefully slid in and made sure he didn’t cause the bed to move too much. He then reached over toward his lamp and turned it off, then it became dark. But that was alright, because Jonathan could see just fine in the dark. His eyes automatically adjusted to the change in lighting and started to glow a nice, royal blue, a bit darker than his actual eye color. A slight yawn surfaced once more and he finally rested his head on his own pillow, closing his eyes soon after. Thankfully, he wasn’t the snoring type, but there was some soft breathing that could be heard.
