Description
Full Disclosure: one of my biggest pet peeves about weblogs and online journals is people posting song lyrics. One or two lines is fine; that's just like the Personal Quote in a profile. However, posting most if not all of the lyrics is just plain annoying. Moreover, it's almost always used by the writer to reflect on a personal situation, though it won't always quite match the reality. Anyway, this isn't just about what drives me crazy, it's about the madness of another...This is in response to a notice by [link] regarding a 40-something self-proclaimed graphic designer named Ronnie L Clark Jr., whose gallery is composed almost entirely of just-barely retouched photos (including two or three well-known publicity photos of actress Jenny Agutter, on one of which [link] he practically branded with his initials over her hip in a show of what he probably considers pure class.) and other materials he's appropriated from sources he shares no connection with.
While DeviantART's stance on journals is fairly liberal, FAQ #34: Are there any rules for the journals? , and this journal doesn't technically break those few rules, it still serves to give a little insight into his mindset and how he seems to operate.
Most of his journals consist entirely of uncredited song lyrics that are given no context or introduction, except for his name above the lyrics in a large font. This is absent from later entries as well as early entries that are not written in the custom CSS, which would indicate that he became aware of what having his name above the lyrics looked like, yet didn't bother to tweak the CSS in those particular entries.
Again, there's nothing TECHNICALLY wrong with the journal entry, but given how questionable the rest of his gallery is, it doesn't paint the most flattering picture in terms of his artistic integrity.

OMG! He has had his peepee spanked more than once and just goes and does something stupid yet again!
Good catch *533497 !!
He can post lyrics in a journal as long as he is honest of the source but like you said, he put his own name on it!!

Hmm... I don't know. He doesn't claim that the lyrics are his, and technically he's not doing anything wrong.
It's hard to give journals rules, since they are a place of freedom and speaking your mind.

He can post lyrics in a journal but *533497 was right, he put his name on the top of the lyrics and did not produce a true source until confronted.
He had to enter his name in that spot in the journal. He claimed it until he was caught.
He's been reported multiple times and keeps doing this.

That's because he knows it's not against the rules. Of course people will do bad things if they can get away with it.
I'm just saying, there's no point wasting our time with him. If someone asks him, he doesn't claim it's his. Therefore, we can't actually prove he's doing something wrong.

You're absolutely right, and I wouldn't have even given it a second thought past "Gah, f***ing song lyrics! Damn putz." except for everything else that accompanies it and, well, dat's the rub, idn't it? it's all these little facets that add up to create one hideous mosaic.
As for not claiming the lyrics... well, all of his journal entries are song lyrics, and none of them list the source. Would it really hurt to add that extra line at the top or bottom of the entry? Typically on weblogs when people post song lyrics, they give a little context (why they thought of this song, how it relates to what's going on in their life, and so on), but he has done no such thing, just copied and pasted the lyrics whole and alone. Moreover, like I said, his name is above the entry (not just this one, but others); he forgets to put the original songwriter's name but puts his own above the entry? He may not be outright claiming it as his own, but he's not exactly going out of his way to give credit where credit is due, either.
Again, you're right, journals don't really have rules, but given whose journal it is, it doesn't do many favors for a guy trying to be taken seriously as a graphic designer.

Well, if you feel so strongly about it, then by all means go ahead and report his content.
I just don't really know if there will be any point. Deviantart ignores obvious art thieves some times, so I'd doubt they would react to a subtle sign of one.

-LYRICS-
I'M DEEP. AND MEANINGFUL. PLEASE SLEEP WITH ME.
I remember warning and reporting this guy when the original notice was put up, he struck me as the most unbearable prick.

Ah, didn't check it until after I wrote my first reply; he's reduced them down to just one. Still, nearly everything this guy does is just baffling on so many levels.

I think he's trying to hide his previous entries, make them a little tougher to find. Between that and the fact that, just in the past few days, instead of posting actual replies to comments on his main page's thread, he just posts whole new comments, all just deepens the mystery of what goes on in his head.
