when i was a kid in england ...most households,problably right up to 1950 still had them around....they had been issued to them during the war in case of gas attack of some kind

ah, that sounds rather unsettling. there are a few houses in my neighborhood with bomb shelters which are probably from around then. I think this particular mask is an Israeli civilian mask which i think is the one they're currently issuing so it's probably being used there the way you remember from your childhood.

Thanks again for sending in a recommendation! i guess i'll have to find one of our buddies and do the same! i don't know about gold standards but i have been rather impressed with a lot of your work as well since you seem to focus a lot on things i have weaknesses with such as approaching people, i realize in those situations that technique gets a bit more limited as does time to coax out an expression that works and it limits your choices as far as files go when all is said and done. so i suppose the inspiration is mutual!

i bought a gas mask here in australia that in the pic showing it it had the circular eyes in it, it was an israeli gas mask. but when i got it they were sort of triangular eyes. im so jealous of you lolz, i want the round eye one coz it looks like the pyro from Team Fortress 2 lolz

I think your DD nomination sums it right up, the way you used the lighting to portray black on black is amazing. The absolute void in the eyes and the overall sense of something eerie is just marvelous!
