Oekaki practice using ASN's ShiPainter Pro. I haven't actually taken time to sit down and do anything Avatar-related in such a long time...just to screw up Yue's braids.

Are they braids? It doesn't look too screwed up to me, but I'd like some stronger shadows - otherwise she'll look like it was taken with flash photography to a certain extent.

Aw, it's ok, I didn't really take it as that (damn text with no inflection indicative of emotions!). Critiques are great and all, but I myself would be mindful of the artist's own interpretation.

Oh, I'm sorry for taking it the wrong way! (Again, text, what can you do?)
The other thing I was thinking that might help was giving the highlights or shadows a hint of color (maybe pale yellow or blue for the highlight, or blue in the shadows?) Her hair has a bit of that, and particularly in shadows it'll help it work with the background more.
