Description Ah what the hell. I thought i'd shove up another photo of my fave coot shots from the Bushy Park trip.

One of the things I loev about this series of coot shots is not just the pretty colours on the water, but the fact that theres no highlight blowout on the beak (altough it might look it from the web res versions but the details all there).

enjoy.

Oh yea... a coots beak can be a night mare for a photographer. You managed it so well.

Like this shot. Is the twig in the coot's mouth or was it kinda in the way ? its hard to tell. xx

mmm.... i would try to clone the bit that is covering the beak out and make it look like its carrying the stick in the beak.... nest building and all that lol. Would make a great behavioural shot lol xxx

Yeah I thought about that, but i'm not into that sort of correction. Thats digital manipulation, not photography Besides it wouldn't line up correctly on the 'z' depth.

My rule is - if it wasn't like that when I shot it, I won't change it (except for things like litter or blatant obstructions which is rare).

Its a tad distracting I know but it kinda adds to the impression that the coot is nudging the twig with its beack (which is what it was doing).

Right ok.. just an idea. I have to say.. I personally dont mind a bit of manipulation, but only because I never can get it right in the camera lol. Each to their own though and your photos are marvelous enough without any manipulations lol xx
