Its coming up to it The rut has started this year, altough this shot is a few years old now.
Please feel free to follow my work on my FB Page - I'm trying to get my work some more exposure and all the support I can obtain will be truly appreciated!

Great use of dof here. The background is nicely blurred out, but I personally I might try to darken down the highlight on the top right. Its a bit distracting. I wonder if it could be cloned over if you are into altering images to that extend. But looking at the stag itself its a very sharp and detailed image and the timing was great. Is it rutting season ??? lol xxx

yeah pretty much rutting now. Yeah I see teh sky area in the image - I hadn't noticed it before you mentioned it. I don'tm ind cloning stuff out depending on what it is but I don't find it too distracting on this shot.
Cheers for the input tho

As I am unsure how the etiquette of this goes, I thought I'd let you know that I used your picture as reference for one of my sketches.
It's a terrible sketch, so you needn't worry about it outstaging your own, marvelous work.

You need permission from any photographer before you can use their work for anything. I usually rip people apart for using my work without first seeking consent (its copyright law afterall) but on this occasion i'll allow it providing i'm credited and the original photo is linked from wherever you upload it.

I knew I failed somewhere at that process. --_--
I really didn't mean any offense - I was just sketching. And yes, the image is linked and I state very clearly that I used your photo as reference.

nah its quite alright its one of those things a lot of people arn't aware of to start out with.
I've have had immense rows with people on d.a butchering my work without permission and then them refusing to take the offending piece down.
Somthing like a simple sketch doesn't bother me all too much as its purely your own skill to copy somthing by hand. Image manipulations are a different ball game however

Oh gods! Your work is too beautiful to maul! If my piece truly had offended you I'd take it down in a heartbeat - I'd not disrespect you so by keeping it posted.
And the photomanipulations I just don't understand. For a sketch then I see no harm in not checking first, but if your photos aren't posted as stock then it should be very obvious that you've a trouble with people taking them as such.
Humans are hard to understand. >_>

The argument I had with one girl was that from her point of view - i'd "uploaded the work to a public domain so therefore is free to use without prior consent". Bollox girl! Its copyright law.
Myself and several others reported her to d.a and the work was stripped down by admin lol.

By that account no one would feel safe to ever post art. I saw someone who'd just painted over a beautiful photo of a horse (not even actual paint - just copied the image into MS Paint and done over it!) and was selling it as prints.
I was displeased.
