for my friend Kat's birthday. i looked at so many different tiny turtles. this one is just a little bit of all of them. XDi would like to make more of these in the future.
time: somewhere around 3 hours
premo polymer clay. pastel chalk. nail polish. a key-chain and a pin dealy-thing.

I used nail polish to make the eyes on him shinny. I have been told that it will get sticky after a while so I do not recommend it.

i used a tiny bit of sculpey moldmaker ~>[link]
put some indents in it and bake. then press into the shell clay for texture. =]

Hi just got back from New York it was great and yes it rained a lot the weather oddly enough was similar to England rain with sunshine but much hotter. I stayed with friends in Westchester County just outside New York City and visited family members it was sad visiting Mt Vernon where we used to live the house now sold! Anyway took a trip to Orlando Florida from New York China Town,Canal Street, yes it is crazy! 19 hours one way arrived in Orlando the next day. It was good to see my relatives now back in England back to work! I looking forward to making more mushrooms so much to do and not enough time to do it in. How are you?

aww i am glad you got to see family and revisit some of your past(even if it was a little sad). the weather here in Washington is very similar to England's too. lots of grey and rain. ^^

I hope all is well i just want to say for sorry for not responding sooner to your message, it just that i have been slightly withdrawn, recently I lost an old friend and it came as a shock to me, plus busy with work too. I have been looking on your site and i love your blue octopus what inspired you to do that?
Anyway in response to your long asked questions yes i am a very friendly person, easy to talk to and great company. Regarding Cob houses? do you mean tudor beamed houses, built in the 16th or 15th century on cobbled streets for the horse and carriage? if that is what you mean Bristol the city I live in has plenty all around the centre of the city. A lot of the buildings unfortunately were destroyed in the world war II.

Hmmm, I think tudor beamed houses are different. I think you could have a cob tudor beamed house. Cob is a building material of clay, sand, straw, water, and earth. Similar to adobe. I was wondering how such houses fared in temperate weather and have heard that there are very old cob houses all over Europe. Oh well, thank you for letting me know.

Started 2013 in the George Pub with a few pints of great ale to welcome in the new year! so far the weather has been very wet and window we had one in January with heavy snow but now its torrential rain! what next??
Anyway clay cob tudor houses are not so common in England I think in places like Southern France, Italy and Spain those sort of houses are more common because of the drier warmer climate. When I was in Italy 10 years ago i saw some very nice old houses while i visited the city of Rimini and Catholica, seaside towns off the coast of the Adriatic Sea.
