In fact, April O'Hara, a girl from a farming family whose parents owed a bank debt. Worse, they had no way to pay it back, so there was a serious threat that they would lose everything and April found out about it. Of course, completely by chance, but still, and she wanted to help her family, the problem was that she didn't know how, or at least it was so for a while. Then, one day, while walking, the girl accidentally found an old abandoned military facility with many of unfinished combat armor of various types. In other words, something extremely valuable, and April thought exactly the same when they decided to sell it, which turned out to be a serious mistake.
All because the people who wanted to buy them were dangerous bandits who refused to pay her, but that wasn't the worst. The worst thing was that they took her family hostage and when she wanted to bargain, they threatened her that they kill them. Then April realized what a serious mistake she had made, so she decided to fix it and defeat the bandits with one of the armor she found. To that end, she first tricked the bandits that she would bring them these armors, and that worked, including the moment when she stunned the bandit who went with her to guard her. However, it was worse with saving the family with the help of this armor, because, unfortunately, it died as a result of a shootout and because the girl did not know how to use this armor at that time.
That, however, was to change soon, as April promised revenge and bring these people to justice, but that had to wait. More specifically, until he convinced her classmate David O'Hare, a genius of robotics, computer science, technology, and cybernetics, to help her seek justice, which she did.
David then repaired and even refined the armor, giving April a chance to avenge her family, and that's exactly what she did. Anyway, effectively, or at least it was so for a long while.
Then, during the fight with the leader of these bandits, she was shot by an electromagnetic weapon, which made her lose control of her armor and made her fall straight onto the thick metal railing. Worse, she did it with her back and exactly so that just blow injured her spinal cord, taking away her possibility to walk. Later, April, whom David took home on autopilot, and after as Edward Murdock, a doctor who knew her secret, reported to her that she would never be able to walk again, she lost the opportunity to pursue their superheroine career.
This did not mean, however, that she stopped fighting evil, but now she started to do it officially as a prosecutor and, moreover, effectively. All because, April quickly proved to be excellent at what she did, just as David, whom she married, turned out to be an excellent specialist in technology.
In other words, their life was wonderful, much less with their daughter and all the love they had for each other, but that didn't last forever. One day, a group of bandits kidnapped their beloved Neile to force her to close the case, and it was a big blow to April.
More precisely, so strong that she was ready to meet their demands, or at least it was for a time. Then her husband, who knew how much she wanted to be heroin again, showed her an early birthday present ... a wheelchair turning into battle armor. Exactly tk, David, for an unknown period of time, secretly created a wheelchair for her that could become a walking aid armor. In other words, something that allowed April to get back in the saddle, and she did exactly. First to save her daughter, and then she went back to being a superhero for good. Okay, a hero, because April, taking advantage of the fact that all models were intended for men, hid her identity pretending to be a guy.
