so here's something fun and slightly embarrassing.one day i was rummaging through the basement at my brother's house and i found this really old sketchpad that i used to draw in when i was younger. i would draw one character every couple days. one per page. i thought they were brilliant back then... well, good enough to keep anyways. not so much anymore though. holy thunder thighs batman!
for those who might have trouble figuring out who's who:
top row l to r: some gun guy (it was the early 90's, give me a break), union, grendel
bottom row l to r: spartan, hulk (and his super hairy armpits), wolverine (back in his bone claw days), magneto.
these were all done in 1994. so that means i was 13... awwww...
EDIT: YES THERE ARE LIEFELD INFLUENCES, I DON'T NEED EVERYBODY TO POINT IT OUT THANK YOU. LOL
AGAIN... i was THIRTEEN.

man i feel bad for you ....liefeld was one of the worst ever in comics....its a good thing you turned out the opposite of him...not an anatomical handicap..im so glad im only 19 and didnt have to suffer through image comics

don't be embarrassed...these sketches should be used to indicate your immense growth as an artist...if you still drew like this based on all you've absorbed since you were 13/14, you'd probably be concerned!
Nevertheless, at 13/14 you had incredible potential...potential you've obviously lived up to! Great gallery!

Liefeld or not even I started drawing his style & somehow nowadays "Thankful" for him for getting me started back then...I know he's a guy not very popular nor wanted nowadays in the comic book industry, BUT, Thanks to Mr. Rob "X-Force" Liefeld I won't ever arrive in my level of drawing today. So I guess your not alone.(^_^)

Wait, 13?! Dang.... Looks like I've now have more of a drive to draw now. This is pretty dang good. I look back at the art I drew at age 13 and there is NO strait lines. Not even the ones I used a ruler with.

Those both were done in 96 when iwas a senior in high school. i wish I was as good as you when i was 13!
