This artwork is amazing, the colors are smooth and the Draenei was drawn well. Was the absent extra join intentional?

yes and no. it was at the time I wasn't playing wow for a little while. the expansion came out and i've only seen some pictures of draenei online but wasn't really all that familiar with them yet.
so i painted the impression of a draenei i had from memory.
later started playing the game again and realised the anatomy was off.

the crystals took the longest i must admit! something i drew for the first time in my life too. getting them look more or less like crystals would was hard.

yeah I started oing the background as soon as i finished painting the figure, but i really wanted to get the figure out there so i just made up a really simple background for her to get her out there.

Anyway.
What really caught my attention on this were the crystals. How did you pull them off? O.O

to be honest i have no idea.......they took me ages! -dies-
i had a look on google at pictures of crystals, then i had a look at how they were made in the actual game, then at how other people painted them and then i went and did my own thing lol.
they were the hardest part of the picture.

yeah Dranei are from World of Warcraft.
you can still colour her in your own special way. World of Warcraft is a fantasy game....I suppose the only thing all dranei have is really dark skin. but you can choose the colour. have a look on google for Draenei you'll find some reference pictures and such.
I do all my digital work in PS7.0. I do have CS but my laptop cannot run it....my RAM is too low...

low RAM suck more than you can imagine....
I am getting to the point in my 'career' of making art where i wanna make nice large detailed pictures. however my sucky RAM prevents me from doing it.....it makes me angry. one day i'll be rich and famous and will get myself a laptop with massive RAM. and then i'll own the world! mwaaa ha ha haaaaa!!!!...... -cough- uhm...yeah -cough-
