Hello, thank you a lot for the link to your render, great work, you are on the good way, do not forget to clean your exported mesh with Meshlab to obtain a better surface on your 3D model.
May i suggest you to upload your renders on your DeviantArt account to share your work with usΒ

Amazing, I will try to soften my work with MeshLab.

One thing I did not understand and I do not get it, like you do to make it the fractal so tight? I tried to make concrete fractal and I have very separate

To have a solid mesh you must use these setting on the Extra tab

- Volumetric resolutionΒ  800 vx
- Voxel algorithmΒ  Gausian Density
- Density TresholdΒ  0.990 thick

You must wait 10 minute before exporting your STL , the computer will pre-calculate the mesh on this time before exporting.

Be patient, it takes few weeks before to obtain a good resultΒ Β

I have never used Incendia before or mesh lab so hoping after seeing your tutorials to give it a go, I am confident with using MB3D so hope to progress and make some amazing images. I have really enjoyed and been inspired by your work, truly brilliantΒ

Incendia Ex is really a great software, may i recommend you to read the IncendiaWikiΒ  www.incendia.net/wiki/index.ph…

Excellent thank you very much I had looked at your page and read through some of your tutorials on Incendia Ex which then curiosity got the better of me and I some further looking around on the net to get an idea of what it was about. I had not tried looking up on Wiki so will read through that and give it a go. I loved the results you have achieved with it and was so pleased to get a bit guidance on how to do the voxel steps in MB3D also as I did want to try and do some work with my own stuff in Blender or Zbrush (only just learning them too so long way to go).Β  Cant wait to get started excited much lol

the trouble is my computer is an old laptop and Incendia alone eats too much power, but I was able to make and export some stl/obj, just can't render them because it wants 18+ hrs! maybe I will work on a more simple shape

I seem to be having a problem with sculpture gen. when I export the file as stl., I am unable to open it in meshlab?
Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nic022 In reply to Tate27kh [2013-05-23 18:16:15 +0000 UTC]

When you export from SG you must specify in your file name the extention like this "FILENAME.STL" otherwise SG save the file without extention and you can open it
I hope it fix the problem

What do you recommend as a render program? and sorry of this sounds silly, can you just render in Incendia?
I have all the programs you listed, and I am going through the steps slowly.
Thanks for the great resources.

nic022 In reply to Tate27kh [2013-05-23 18:13:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes for sure you can render directly in Incendia, but the render options are limited
Thank for your comment

To export with meshlab go to FILE / Export mesh as / chose the format .stl .obj .ply ect......

JahPickney [2012-10-25 23:01:07 +0000 UTC]

What are the minimum hardware specs for this?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

nic022 In reply to JahPickney [2012-10-26 07:35:23 +0000 UTC]

You need for this tutorial, 4Gb ram minimum (better with 8-16Gb ram), a good processor (i5-i7-AMD+), a good video card (500Mb min), and if possible a 64Bits OS.

The 3D mesh generated by Incendia can be very big (500Mb to 1Gb) so you need a Render Engine who can handle very big 3D Object.
I highly recommended to start with very simple shapes (fractals objects) at the begining.

You need also to try many times before to obtaint a good result, it doesnt work correctly at the first time, if you obtaint ugly mesh at the beginning it's normal, dont give up try again.

Cheers, Nic
