I meant the wall above the leaning stone, not the leaning stone itself. that's probably why it didn't make much sense

ah ok. Ya that's fair - I think it looks right, it was also important to keep prominent (client request) but I really do value your feedback.

Great painting Nick, I was happy to get a peek of it in the Massive Black workshop
But something's bothering me about it, the texture on the stone wall that's right above the leaning stone on the right there seems to be a bit too detailed,
I think it contrasts too much with the other walls and there are generally too many complexion details on it..
oh and another little thing is that the eaglet isn't dropping a dark enough shadow (especially at the feet area) , making him look a bit like he was pasted over the painting from a different one.

I disagree on your comment about the leaning stone but I welcome it, nonetheless. Also, I matched the shadow beneath the Egalit to the stone he is examining, so they should be the same value...there might be some funky optical illusions going on, though.
