Here's a bit of trivia... from what I can tell, it was this very show (though probably not the only one) that landed ol' George in the slammer. "7 words you can't say on TV".He said all of them... over... and over... and over.
let's just say they're watching this on a VHS tape or something.
Anyhow...
Duncan is one of my favorite Thomas characters. He's rude, doesn't get along with others, detests work of any kind... and that's just the way I like him.
On another note... I've always hated that all the engines on the Skarloey Railway have the same colors in the books. They just compliment each other so much more nicely with their own colors, like in the TV series, and it helps them stand out. Plus, I think each color suits each character, with Duncan's yellow making him look like something sour or bitter. There's a reason that, despite my preference, I'm MOSTLY staying true to how these guys looked in the books, but I did at least make them different shades of red and/or reddish orange, so they wouldn't all look the same and blend together.
This is not the last page of this tribute to my favorite comedian, and to the railway series of old, but I should have it done within the week.

Heh, all he says is true! When you think about it hard enough it's really true. Heh, at least one old engine gets his material. Glad to see you like the Skarloey engines having unique colors too. I'm the same way

Well, he was mentioned in one of the recent seasons... they just haven't bothered rendering a new model of him. Personally, from what I've seen, I really like Luke, so I''m not upset that he's there... I just wish Duncan was still around, to. But hey, I guess the people at the top thought he was a "bad influence". Pfft.

Just a note- Carlin narrated for the US dub's first 4 seasons; and these comics are more based on the original Railway Series books, hence the Skarloey red paintwork and presence of the character Ivo Hugh.

I heard of the "7 Dirty Words" in Everybody Hates Chris, an episode called "Everybody Hates Dirty Jokes". So this was the guy who did it? And he got jailed for it?
