I guess he didn't like my inks on this. Poop. Oh well, I don't take offense, I'm VERY new to inking and yours blows mine out of the water! lol Awesome work, Nick!

Thanx. I took a peep of your digital version. Super clean...super nice. Definitely awesome to see a different take.
I like your thundercats stuff over San as well. I think you should keep after the traditional style. Really good stuff.

Yeah, I want to do traditional, but it's a bit messy. Ink wells and me don't get along very well. lol I'm a bit too clumsy - I'm afraid that one slip and that ink will be spilled all over the image. I've been talking to a friend of mine who does traditional inking for Marvel and she told me to try tech pens. I think I will give those a try. What do you, personally, use?

For my work. Marvel or anyone else. I tend to use brushes, sketch pens, and rapidos. I wouldn't completely suggest tech pens for all inkwork as you'll be drawing in your line variation...and can get a bit cumbersome. Kuretake brush pens...might be a place to start. If you dont want to deal with fresh inks.

I'll look up Kuretake brushes. Thanks, Nick! I think once I get better at it I'll be able to use brushes and nibs better. I used nibs and a well on the Thundercats image, and found that was a bit tedious as I kept having to go back into the well over and over every few strokes and then would have to bleed out some of the ink on a scrap piece of paper after well dipping, so I wouldn't get any ink blobs on the image. I found it really difficult. I'd prefer to have a pen that I don't have to worry about excess ink dripping on the image, at least until I get better. I tried repidographs but they kept getting clogged. I guess I just have to keep trying new things until I find what works best for me.
Thank you for the advice! If you have any more tips or advice I'd love to hear it!
