These winged nightmares didnt start attacking Atlas until after the fall of Minas Ithil, now known as Minas Morgul. Salem has evolved the species of Nevermore into a new breed of avian beast. Thunderbirds are not named lightly, pilots have reported hearing thunder before spotting these creatures in the sky, even on a sunny day.

Their prefered target is aircraft, but they have been seen attacking people on the ground with strafing runs and causing small lighting bolts to hit the ground by flapping their wings together hard enough. Their green feathers take in the static energy from clouds, allowing them to use the stored energy against their prey.

Advice concering the Thunderbirds by Ace Ops:

Clover Ebi: "Never let a Thunderbird get too close, or their electric field will short out any machine you have with you. And they're just as deadly from a distance, firing electric blasts that can destroy tanks if fully charged."

Vine Zeki: "The electricity produced by their feathers can disable Aura in only a few shots, so fighting them without heavy equipment is ill advised."

Elm Ederne: "I've never faced one in person, but I saw one out a window of our flotila, thunderclap and everything. The squadron in the air was too big for it to attack us, but I could tell it was tempted."

Harriet Bree: "I've seen one of those things pull down a gunshp and dogfight a fighter... I'm not joking when i say they are fast."

Marrow Amin: "There's no easy way to kill one of these, its no different than a Nevermore. Creatures like these are best dealt with heavy ammunition or rockets, anything smaller will only piss them off."
