Description
so there's like 20 tower cranes in this city right now. i saw this exact scene one day coming in on the highway. all the cranes pointed at each other with a huge flock of birds in the middle. pretty awe inspiring. ink with a photo background.Related content

very cleverly done, I too have an attraction to how cranes hang in the sky's of cities.

they seem so impossible and appear extremely important. but no one seems to acknowledge them. like an elephant in the room.

When I first saw this I thought it was entirely a photograph. Then I read your artist's comment, and had to look again. I love the way you layer drawings on top of photos. Seriously awesome.

thanks so much. it's really simple and works pretty well with the right subject. need to know how? :]

Do you just use something like photoshop to layer images? I don't remember how to isolate line art anymore, but I used to know.

the magic wand tool is the best. select the empty space around your subject and delete it. for this i was able to use the blending option 'multiply'. so that all the white in my drawing disappears and leaves the dark lines. no deleting required. there are more tricks that i have learned. but that's the basic idea.

Or possibly of something even weirder... like that birds have the ability to fly! Or that cranes exist!

I think the birds really add something interesting to this photo. What's that all the way in the background though, a mountain?
It's a really lovely photo.

yeah the photo portion is actually stretched out a bit. but a very similar sky to the scene that inspired the drawing. thank you.
