I just had 12 Feeders and 3 lovely new goldfish die on me thispast week do to some evil unforseen parisite that had come from the pet shop

Wow. Good job on the caudal fin and anal fin. Good job altogether on the fish itself. This reminds me of my dead goldfish Seto... poor guy. But very well done.

I like how the bottom something fin
i am at a loss as to its proper name
-is some what transparent
it gives it depth
along with the fact that those fins really are some what transparent in real life.
most artists would just make it a solid block of color.

Unfortunately this was just the painting in what I thought was the early stages, and much of the bottom fin is now covered up with other layers...I'm just seeing now some things I should have left alone. I'll have to repost the new version soon..

I think this is the best one out of the series so far. The colors you choose feel very appropriate for fish and the fact that the colors are 'off' are appropriate since the fish themselves are 'off' well in this case, dead.
Any particular reason for choosing dead fish as a topic?

Dead fish really disturb me, I think because I've had so many bad experiences with pet fish dying and I really can't even stand to look at them...so when I ran out of ideas of what I wanted to paint I thought I'd try painting something I normally wouldn't even want to look at for a change.
It also seemed to go along the same lines with all the caged bird imagery I was using a little while ago...
