Description
A3 (30 x 42cm/ 12 x 16.5")Acrylics on watercolour paper
Here the standing stones are again a gateway between myth and reality... in this case historical reality. The Sentinel is loosely based on Cernnunus, the Horned God, though it's my own interpretation. The Sentinel is a forest guardian and can be summoned only by one with the blood of the Tuatha Dé Danann.... whether they know it or not.

I'm a big Centaur fan, so I love this pic! I guessed from your artist comment that he's technically not a proper Centaur, but he's still Centaur-like. Awesome job!

Cernnunos = Herne The Hunter
Well he turned into that eventually.
I'm 15-20% Irish with some scottish and British in me. So My (very) distant ancestors were Celts.
But I'm 50% Puerto Rican (Spanish) which would link me back to the Romans, and they killed the Celts...
Huh... So my ancestors killed my ancestors.
Weird how that works out o_O
Anyway, Nice job. The art is amazing.
One question though. Who's the Girl?

Thanks The girl is a fictitious character, supposedly one who carries blood of the Tuatha de Danaan in her veins who has summoned the Sentinel

The triple spiral or triskele does have links with Celtic mythology/ pagan practices. It's sometimes linked to cycles like life/ death/ rebirth - which some have interpreted to represent the triple goddess (mother/ crone/ maiden)

May I say, stunning, beautiful.The colours, the composition..it`s one of those pieces that draws you in, until you can feel the dappled sun on your face, hear the birdsong,smell the earth and leaf-litter.
