Part 1 of my tutorial for on how to tone!
This one is lineart preparation, though I'm sure you don't really need it I guess it's tutorial practice <3
All art etc. included in this tutorial (minus my desktop background at the beginning) belongs to me!
(My background is in fact the butterfly one from Lackadaisy Cats)

Nuuu.. I'm trying to use the windows 2000 and above version of GIMP, and I can't find the stupid ' dotted circle ' icon. D: I mean, I found the channels tab, but I don't know what to do after that.. I'm a new gimp user, so I have NO idea how to use it!

This is a tutorial for Photoshop, and never having used GIMP myself, I'm afraid I can't help you

You're welcome - I've actually come across a slightly better method (very little difference) so I might be updating this sometime~
Of course, if you figure out how to do this on GIMP you should share that for other GIMPers! XD
And thank you very much for the fav ^___^

I've actually improved my lineart extraction method recently so I might be making a more updated version of this tutorial, but glad this helps anyway >_<;;;
