So beautiful! Lord help the boys when those girls get to college, haha! I could see the family dynamic as being similar to Ash's, but with a more successful tone obviously. So adorable!

Perfect! XD I can only imagine daughters for shepard. All big time heros usually get sons. And that is so damn cliché I could barf lol. Daughters for Shepard and Jack ftw xD

I think it's far more cliché for a male war hero who ends up having daughters, especially these days...

I'm gonna have to backpedal and disagree 200% with ya on that one.
Its WAY more often a male war hero has sons. Its typical society ideas. Still outweighs the desire for daughters, even still to this day. I have seen over 35 movies where war heros have sons :/ I can only imagine Shepard with daughters. If you desire sons, that's fine. But for me, i only imagine daughters. Especially if the mother is Jack of all people.

But why necessarily daughters in Jack's case?
I like to imagine having a son that I can end up shaping up into my deadly image, with a reformed Jack giving him the tender bits during his upbringing...
P.S. Can you list five, or maybe ten, if these movies?

GShepherd17 In reply to RickOShay1 [2015-05-11 19:07:35 +0000 UTC]
Uh, becuase I see daughters as being more of a direct image of jack. Plus as a female myself I'm more geared towards shaping a 'deadly' image of myself. Which is more satisfacory for me if the kid was a daughter.
Forest Gump, Sky High, General's Son, Sons of Anarchy, Hero, then some Korean war hero with his sons that I forgot name of, captain courageous, and I will be happy to tell ya more when I remember as I can't pull everyone single one fr ontop of my head.
But sons are used way more often then daughters because of all thr lame "sons carry on family name" propaganda that society still refuses to let go. Which is pretty lame.

Poor examples; you said, "male war heroes having sons"; with the exception of Forrest Gump (which is itself questionable), none of those movies apply.
Second of all, I thought we were talking about the actual protagonist having sons, again, most of the those example fail to apply. Where is the son in Hero (I assume you mean the Chinese movie)? Also, in half of your examples, the protagonist IS the son, which doesn't count, as every male was a son at one point.
P.S. What's so lame about a woman replacing her surname with that of her husband's?

GShepherd17 In reply to RickOShay1 [2015-05-20 17:17:39 +0000 UTC]
Regardless, those do count in my opinion. I am talking about sons being used in heroic deeds or which ever, and no duh men were all sons at one point. But guess what? Majority of movies still USE sons waaaay more then daughters. You cannot deny that sons are a favorite far more then daughters. Which is a huge gag-me cliché. .
And they are far from poor examples. But read this, for its far more then just movies that show this. --> m.huffpost.com/us/entry/884220
And as said, we share different view points obviously. I think sons are used way more often.
Also I would rather keep my last name because its my name, one I have had all my life. Why must I give it up for something as simple as marriage? Its just one of those goofy things society had invented that honestly have no more value then the thoughts that made it up.
Now I still respect ideas and believes despite having a opposite view point. I value tradition, but only to a degree, as it gets just plain stupid. after certain things like assigned roles.

So damn cute, damn I wish Jack was a bigger part of ME3. She's my favorite romance for MShep, second overall after Thane, but she also makes me feel so guilty for romancing her, because I feel like her sanity and growth are tied to you if you romance her, and now that you're dead she'll go nuts and bitter again. Great scene, and I love how momma Jack cleaned up.

WONDERFUL! Seeing some of your stuff is truly touching. It really brings out the fragile side in Jack that even if you romance her you generally have to work to see. As it is this is one of the best Mass Effect pieces that I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. Keep up the awesome work! I'll be waiting for your next piece.

"Daughters of the Psychotic Biotic" sound way better then "sons of the noble commander. "
Sorry just wanted to use that pun.

RickOShay1 In reply to GShepherd17 [2015-05-11 02:46:02 +0000 UTC]
What "pun"?
Also, can you imagine this: Shepard goes out on business for say, about a week, maybe more, and when he comes back, his son's hairstyle has gone from normal to a Mohawk!

GShepherd17 In reply to RickOShay1 [2015-05-11 02:52:56 +0000 UTC]
the Psychotic Biotic one. Pun/rhyme/whichever ya wanna call it.
Well, if you can imagine it. Then i guess.
Sorry its just sons tend to take after fathers more often, so sons with Shepard might be 'noble' or something else cliche'. And in this case since the mother is JACK; i think his family would be far more interesting with daughters if they ended up like Jack. If his wife was Miranda, then i would root for Shepard having sons. But if his wife is either Tali, Jack, or etc. I root for daughters.

Whoa there, I am talking about an extremely young son, no older than the girls in this picture.
LOL, I can totally picture Jack going a little "renegade" with the hairdo of the Paragon Shepard's son.
P.S. Now that you made me think about it, I can picture Jack getting "super-protective/ultra-cautious" when her daughter(s) reach adolescence.
P.P.S. What do you picture a Shepley couple having for offspring?

Now that you made me think about it, I think a daughter would be much more suitable for a "tragic alternate ending" that popped into my head as I listened to some Hans Zimmer music.

RickOShay1 In reply to GShepherd17 [2015-05-19 18:18:04 +0000 UTC]
Well, I was listening to Hans Zimmer's* score "To Die For" ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vCNn6… ; go to 2:15) and, by force of habit, my imagination starts wandering, I pictured this: Jack dying from complications just minutes after giving birth.
Shepard is happy as can be, he is holding his baby girl up high, thanking God for such a beautiful gift, and then he turns around and notices something; despite the smile on her face, Jack is completely still. With one hand, Shepard tries nudging her, and gently shaking her, but no response, no breath in her body; Shepard's hand starts shivering as tears of complete sorrow develop in his eyes...
I write this while listening to the music and even now, my eyes are getting wet, lol.
*His works also include Black Hawk Down, Gladiator, Inception, and many, many others.

I can imagine later in life, the girl will start saying things like, "my mother died because of me", and I'll have to respond with something like, "your mother died giving you to me; don't say things like that."
I don't suppose your imagination created any tragic scenarios? Any you would like to share?

GShepherd17 In reply to RickOShay1 [2015-05-20 17:21:33 +0000 UTC]
Well tragic endings are not entirely my fortay. I can come up with bittersweet stuf to a certain degree. But I can't say nothing comes to me at the moment.
Perhaps the child growing up wonders what her mother was like. And shepard claiming she is just like her mother. And that she will always live on in her heart.

RickOShay1 In reply to GShepherd17 [2015-05-20 18:18:05 +0000 UTC]
Perhaps "ending" is the wrong word for us to be using.
There is the important question of how Shepard is going to raise Natalie (or should it be Jasmine?); the only picture that I've been able to conjure up is this: A grieving Shepard receiving some "brotherly comfort" from Garrus and James, perhaps sitting on the couch with a drink...
Meanwhile, in the next room over, the now Mrs. Ashley Vega is acting as a wet-nurse for the little one. I imagine they just had a child of their own; a son perhaps?

GShepherd17 In reply to RickOShay1 [2015-05-20 18:38:46 +0000 UTC]
Hm sure ya can give them a son.
But I prefer picture of the child in shepard's hand instead of a drink. The brotherly love part of garrus and james is fine. But I would rather see shepard holding his girl.

1.) His grief over the loss of beautiful Jack is still very fresh.
and
2.) Real breast-milk is better than formula.

GShepherd17 In reply to RickOShay1 [2015-05-21 06:22:06 +0000 UTC]
I still think shepard would be mentally strong enough to bottle feed his kid. Actually if his wife died I think he'd be stuck to his kid like glue.
Ok so? Breast milk is better but formula don't hurt kids. Both me and my sibling was raised on formula. So I see no harm in Shepard using a bottle rather then guzzling achohol.

RickOShay1 In reply to GShepherd17 [2015-05-21 23:01:35 +0000 UTC]
Typically, yes, alcohol tends to calm grief a bit. But I've shed enough manly tears to know that crying tends to make one feel very thirsty, so the drink could be, well, anything.

Now, as to long range plans... It's hard for me to picture what Shepard can/would do next.
His heart will eventually have to be healed, and it wouldn't be right to have the girl live her entire childhood without ever having a mother...

Also, unless Shepard resigns his Spectreship and hopes to live off royalty checks, I fear that he is going to be overwhelmed.
