Description
I've spent loads of time on this piece and I'm quite glad with the outcome. I hope you guys all like it, too.I would be glad if you'd use this as wallpaper.
The piece was named Protection because the "mother" (the big planet) is protecting her "child" from being hurt.
I also will be uploading this as a print.
The original resolution of the piece is actually 10000x7500, which should be sufficient for a print

alyn tutorial etc. i didnt give tips to texture because i dont make planets at all... so i wont say tips i just say it looks bad =/

rephrase it to this:
oh well, I think the stars need to be a bit more visible (good constructive). I don't really like the texture, it could use some improvement (saying it in a nicer/politer way and giving a reason why it could use improvement would be better)... etc etc.
Anyway, what I want to say is that you shouldn't call other people's work horrible.. It's unfair towards the artist who spent lots of time on the piece. Tell the artist what he can improve, but don't go insulting his work.
Hope you know what I mean.

It's a pretty good work, but could use some work around the actual nebula (?). Try adding some glare to the planet to make the explosion actually appear to come from behind it. I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.
Edit: Looking again, it looks like the planet is being attacked. The explosion is very original, just remember that fire is a source of light and change the planet's shadow accordingly.

This is no doubt your most touching render... Usually they were just art for the sake of it, but this one has a meaning... Protect the ones that can't defend themselves... Simple, but in this form it's really artistic... It's beautiful, I don't care the repetitive meteors or mediocre lightning, this is going for my wallpaper for sure... and to favourites.

That's AWESOME!
Altough, I got some things bothering me.
There's the lack of the sun, according to where the lighting on the planets is, and its brightness, I think there should be atleast some traces of the sun, if not it showing completely.
The meteors all look exactly the same, and the tails look somewhat unnatural. Might be just me.
The big planet seems a tad over-contrasted. Again, might be just me though.
And last, there is quite a lack of stars. I think there could be more of them.
Other than that, everything is awesome. I honestly admire your patience to work on such a huge peice.
