Description I have. A lot. of drawing. to do. @_@

And I haven't even started on the Wonderlust audition ffff.

And homework is priority to everything

Also is it weird for me to color my pictures before I even get started on refining the sketches?

It is rather odd, in my opinion, to colour before finishing the lineart. But then again, I dont have any of these wizmical programs that let you do layers. Very complicated. =______=.

AND GHIBLI I LOVE STUDIO GHIBLI. And the music, that's special too |3

Aww, but I love all of these. Very peaceful. This is where I wonder "Why Cant I think of any peaceful original stuff anymorez? MREH ><"

(It probably doesn't help that I only have 3 pages left in my sketchbook and I have no money to buy another. *sigh*)

Oh, if you want to try a program with layers, use Sumopaint ! It's a free online drawing program, and it's actually quite spiffy in my opinion.

Ghibli music <333333 Hoe Hisaishi is my hero *u*

I never use sketchbooks...👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Meh, I like having a book I can carry around. I dont know, it's something I like to have. Printer paper's great and all, but it's nice to have everything in one book.

These are all so nifty. I love how you make effort on the background before doing other stuff, I don't do that and I really should. XD Nice job, can't wait to see these finished!

Thank you very much!

I mainly do that because I want to see how the piece looks as a whole before I go back and add in every tedious little detail...but then I procrastinate when doing the details...|DDDD

Shufly In reply to NightMargin [2010-04-13 05:36:57 +0000 UTC]

Hmm true, I think thats actually my weakest point, colors that is. I need to be a little more adventurous with em.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NightMargin In reply to Shufly [2010-04-13 05:53:31 +0000 UTC]

Ah, colors is not hard, actually. Like...when you shade things, try shading them with different hues. (I.e., I always shade orange with purple, etc...)
Just find a way that you're comfortable with 8D

I know how you feel ;3;

NightMargin In reply to Jibers [2010-04-13 05:56:48 +0000 UTC]

*adds that to the list of things I need to watch*
Oooh and if you like nice, sharp backgrounds, I highly recommend you check out some of Makoto Shinkai's works.
In fact here just watch this music video [link] *u*

I can't draw kimonos man, I don't even know what they exactly look like XDD

I've heard of that one but I havent seen it yet, I'm gonna watch it now ouo

Here's the trailer
[link]

Also watch Summer Wars, its by the same director and equally as awesome. Critics are calling the director the "New Hayao Miyazaki"
[link]

It took a lot of practice xD

NightMargin In reply to Jibers [2010-04-15 00:44:24 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah, I've been meaning to watch that one for some time now.

BUT SUMMER WARS. DANG, THAT LOOKS OUTRIGHT AMAZING *u*

Yeah, new Miyazaki all right XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Jibers In reply to NightMargin [2010-04-15 02:59:32 +0000 UTC]

That trailer really doesnt do the movie any justice. There's just some parts where I was on the edge of my seat like "OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD" but I wont spoil it for you 8D

THAT.
WAS.
AMAZING.
Summer Wars blew my mind. I stayed up till 4 in the morning on a school night just to finish it (I had to wake up in one hour lol)

"The film was released in Japan on DVD and Blu-ray on March 3, 2010.[29][30] In its first week of release, the film became the top selling anime Blu-ray in Japan with an estimated 54,000 copies sold, surpassing the previous record holder, Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone." from wiki 8D

It's not weird. In fact I say it's pretty neat in a way. 83 I've seen a bunch of artists who start by filling large areas first, generally getting lighting and color settled first before refining the details.

I tend to be extremely nitpicky and do my linearts first because I want that hellish phase over and done with so I can simply enjoy the coloring process.

Love, love the Makoto and Ghibli style compositions and the really old one at the lower right. 83

if you need help with perspective/whatnot, you can always send me a note.

Yeah that's generally a good idea I just procrastinate on my lineart...|D

Thank you very much!

it's no biggee. It'll break a monotonous cycle of 'RAAAAAAAAAAWR IMMA FAILURE IN LIIIIFE (CAUSE I AM SLOW AND STUPID!)' and at the same time, it's just nice hearing from others from time to time XD;
