Oneshot is an RPG Maker 2003 Puzzle/Adventure game with unique gameplay capabilities. You, as the player, must guide Niko through a mysterious world, utilizing items, characters, and the environment to progress.
Features:
- Original soundtrack
- Custom graphics
- Unusual gameplay features
- Permanent consequences
This game was made in a month with a few character designs and music tracks made beforehand. Inspirations include Yume Nikki, Link's Awakening, Hyper Light Drifter, and The Little Prince.

so yeah, the game that Mat and I have been toiling over for the past month, for the RPGmakerweb indie game contest!
I did the art and most of the music, Mat did the programming and some of the music. We worked together on dialogue/concepts.

This game... awesome. Choose to save the little dude at the end. Partially because I loved the little dude, partially because I believed the other characters when they said putting the sun back wouldn't save them. Almost cried at the part at the cafe with the pancakes.

That's pretty neat that you worked on One Shot! I'll have to find the right time to play it with how the game was designed, though. Still, can't wait!

(there are save points in the game so you don't really need it to play the whole thing in one go, it just helps!)

Played the game, chose to save the world.
It was a great game-- I bonded with Niko during our small conversations so the last choices had me think for some time! I teared up a little! I mean come on- all I get in the end was a neat bedroom?! //sob//
I'm not completely sure if dear Niko-kun died in the end of my choice ;-;'

Anyways, it was a fun experience~ however I swear the items and the small puzzle things where I had to combine items were challenging heheh

i just finished this game today, and i absolutely love it! it's one of the most unique RPG maker games i've ever played, and definitely one of my favorites!

i played the game but (spoilers) at the point when your background gets changed i got the background change and the image but in the walk through i watched the person got some text too and i want to know if it may be a glitch or a file that had nothing to do with the game (also in the ending where you smash the light bulb the window dosnt shake)

I just finished playing the game and i got to say it has quickly became my favorite rpg. At first I wasn't sure about it but by the end it was set in stone that I loved it. The art work you did in the game was amazing and I found Niko to be so adorable specially with the different facial expressions.

oooh, you need to use the rpg_rt.exe launch file we provided (in the folder), and not your own!

I'm having the same problem. I don't know whether it's intended to be run from the .zip file or if it's supposed to be extracted but either way it doesn't work.
If I run it from the .zip file it says "The file RPG_RT.lmt cannot be opened. If I run it from the extracted folder Im told to "Please use the RPG_RT.exe provided with the one shot download."

which .exe file are you using? mat set it up so the game won't run from just any rpgmaker runtime .exe file, but the specific one he provided

Mat says it's probably a thing with antivirus since they try to flag any 3rd party .exes, try disabling it temporarily or make an exception for the file
